  • What study methods or techniques work best for you? ( Pomodoro technique, hands-on org practice, taking detailed notes, flashcards)
  • What external resources do you use alongside Trailhead? (e.g., practice exams, study groups, documentation)
  • How much time do you dedicate daily or weekly to stay consistent without burning out?

    Hi Pablo,

You can try below approach that consistently works for the Admin cert:

    1. Start with the official Salesforce Exam Guide, not a course or video series. It's the actual blueprint, breaks down every exam section with its weightage (e.g. Configuration & Setup, Security & Access, Standard/Custom Objects, Sales & Marketing Applications, Service & Support Applications, Activity Management, Data & Analytics Management, Workflow/Process Automation). Study time should roughly mirror those weightings, not be spread evenly.

Official Trailhead cert prep trail (mirrors the exam guide section by section):

    https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/trails/administrator-certification-prep

    2. Hands-on Trailhead Playground practice beats passive reading for this exam specifically, since most questions are scenario-based ("what would you configure to achieve X"), not definition-recall. For every module you complete, immediately redo the same task from memory in a fresh Playground without the guide open.

    3. Use Trailhead's own interactive scenario/flashcard trail alongside the modules, it's built specifically for this exam and reinforces recall through spaced repetition rather than just re-reading:

    https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/trails/administrator-certification-prep

(same trail includes these interactive study tools)

    4. Join the Trailblazer Community and look for/join a Study Group, Salesforce runs official Admin Study Group sessions periodically that walk through each exam section live, this is Salesforce-endorsed prep, not third-party.

    5. Pomodoro (25-30 min focused blocks) works well specifically because Setup pages and declarative tools have a lot of small, easy-to-conflate settings (e.g. sharing rules vs manual sharing vs role hierarchy), short focused sessions per topic reduce mixing concepts up.

    6. Time commitment: Salesforce recommends 6-12 months of hands-on admin experience before attempting this exam, if you're studying alongside real job exposure, 5-8 focused hours/week is a realistic sustainable pace without burning out; if studying without daily hands-on org access, lean toward more Playground time relative to reading time to compensate.

    7. Don't skip the Certification Program Agreement and exam policies page before exam day, format/logistics questions catch people off guard on exam day itself, not just content:

    https://trailhead.salesforce.com/content/learn/modules/administrator-certification-prep-setup-and-objects/get-started-with-administrator-certification-prep

Good luck, this is a very achievable cert with consistent Playground practice.

I am currently new to Salesforce and I am planning on taking up a Associate Certification. Is there anyone who is willing to help me with some pointers? I almost finished the module that is given when you want to take a certification but I would like to look for alternative form of studying from the community.

Hello Everyone, I am planning to get Einstein Analytics and Discovery Consultant certification in a couple of months.  Any feedback or advise, study guide, or anything that can prepare me for the exam would be appreciated.

Currently I am following Salesforce study guide.

Thank you,

Alfonso

Hi everyone,

I am studying for the Marketing Admin cert, and have created my own trailmix as a study guide:

https://trailhead.salesforce.com/en/users/gmelody/trailmixes/trail-to-marketing-admin

Is there anything you would add/remove from this? I have knowledge of digital marketing and data analytics already, so have not included too many module on those topics.

Any comments would be hugely helpful!

I am signed up for my SF Admin cert on Oct 17 and am nervous about what to study even though the webinar a few weeks ago really helped!! Any tips you have for me?

I have made flash cards (i know I may be a dork but I learn better that way) and I am using the study guide. Just wondered what I may be missing :) Thanks!!!

Successfully passed the App Builder certification and I must say this session was a life saver. It covers all the important topics based on the study guide and tips and tricks shared for exam are real handy. Thank you so much!!

    Try below steps:

    1. Complete trailmix for platform builder including the superbadge, that's 50 hours if you have not done even one module.

    2. Once complete, review the session notes

    3. Do some mock exams at the end from sites like Quizlet. Don't directly go at step 3 as there many answers which are wrong because of recent updates in Salesforce.

    I hope this helps.

I am taking the "Salesforce Certified Mobile Solutions Architecture Designer" test next week. Did anyone here in the group took it and passed it? Just trying to get a sense of what to focus on as it's a very broad topic. The Study guide mentioned there is 85% focused on Mobile Strategy and Design and 15% on Mobile Security.
