Our Sales Managers are asking - instead of showing the full Opportunity Amount of a deal in Pipeline Inspection - please show the SPLIT amount that rolls up to the person viewing the Pipeline Inspection page, similar to what is shown if that same person was viewing the same deal on the forecast page, where the amount being forecast takes a split into consideration.

I thought I had seen in the Pipeline Inspection documentation that this was not possible (which makes sense), but I can't seem to find that now. Am I remembering this correctly? Is this on a product roadmap? #Safe Harbor #Pipeline Inspection

Hi Steve, I don't think it's possible right now but we're also hoping Salesforce adds this as they continue to develop the Pipeline Inspection feature.  Again, I'm not sure but wanted to comment and follow here in case anyone else has additional information.

Hi all - can anyone point me to more info on how this % of total is produced in the Pipeline Inspection pipeline changes waterfall chart? Getting lots of questions about this from users but cannot seem to find documentation on it. The amount doesn't appear to reflect anything else in the chart, or SFDC reporting on the current open pipeline amounts.

Thanks!

@Lindsay Taylor tbh I am still not sure about what numbers I see in order to explain this.

However my best advice is revenue intelligence from platforms like Einstein are mostly guided either on top down from executives to down the hierarchy and hence are dynamic and driven by  manager forecasts changes in ACV that they see in their pipeline.

Hence would advice you to contact SFDC admin support and see what are best practice logic to make this right. Also personally would like to see if you could try out Aviso's AI driven blended forecast models that use time series analysis to predict these numbers.

Just have a look at Aviso AI and see if it can provide you with a positive direction for your issue.

    Cheers!

hello, Summer '21 is now available.  How do you access Pipeline inspector?  It doesn't seem to be available from Setup. We have Unlimited version and Historical trending is turned on. #Pipeline Inspection

Hey all, trying to figure out how to pull the following historical data from Salesforce -

- opp value increases (where the amount increases on an existing opp)

- Total Pipeline added

- Opp value decreases (where the amount decreases on an existing opp)

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks as always!

    Hi Nij,

You have a couple of different options you can use:

    1. Opportunity History - https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.reports_opp_history.htm&type=5
    2. Opportunity Trends - https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.reports_opp_trends.htm&type=5

The first reports shows changes more centered around opportunity stages and length of time in each stage, etc. While the Opportunity Trends Report will show you how your opportunity pipeline is trending over time.

    Hope this helps!

Hello!  I would love to roll out Pipeline Inspection to my users with Winter 22, but we don't use the forecasting process within Salesforce.  Is there any way to remove the Commit Forecast and Best Case Forecast from the Pipeline Inspection header?

On Pipeline Inspection for Opportunities - can you create a view to filter on a custom field?

Hi Jenny,  did you ever get an answer to this question?  If you're still running into limitations re. filtering - check out our app, Akoonu for Pipeline Reviews. You can filter by any field on the opportunity (or related or child objects, including those on campaign or product). Check out the test drive feature to see the app in action, with data, without having to install in a sandbox first - https://appexchange.salesforce.com/appxListingDetail?listingId=a0N3A00000EcyXzUAJ

I just got pipeline inspection enabled, only to learn that the filter is hard-limited to role hierarchy? So, if I have a team of sales folks they can only see their own opps, and only a manager can see all of them? Is there any way around this?

Hi Alex, did you ever get this resolved? If not, check out our app Akoonu for Pipeline Reviews. You can do pipeline inspection and drill down by manager, or another custom field (as well as by role hierarchy). If you want to see it in action without installing in a sandbox - with the benefit of seeing with data prepopulated - check out the test drive feature - https://appexchange.salesforce.com/appxListingDetail?listingId=a0N3A00000EcyXzUAJ

We have turned Pipeline Inspection on in our production environment and it is an amazing tool.  The significant challenge is that it is showing all revenue totals and coloured changes based on the 'Amount' field which we don't use to run our business. This inflates all of the numbers as we are using a field related to annual recurring revenue.  How can we configure Pipeline Inspection to run off of the financial field that we use to run our business? #Pipeline Inspection #Summer '21 Release #Sales Cloud

Hi Jennifer - did you get this resolved? If you are still running into limitations, check out our app, Akoonu for Pipeline Reviews. It is designed to be customizable, including designating which amount field to use (like ARR or another custom amount), as well as different views to drill into different product or revenue sources. You can test drive without installing in a sandbox (and see it in action with historical data) on our appexchange listing - https://appexchange.salesforce.com/appxListingDetail?listingId=a0N3A00000EcyXzUAJ
