Need some pointers on how & where in Salesforce to navigate to this image & URL & how to fix this. The enhanced domain was auto-enabled by SF & I am looking at the redirection log. Any pointer will be greatly appreciated.

Need help on reviewing redirection log.

Do I have to disable enhanced domain to fix it ?

Hello @Steven Lawrance I downloaded the Redirection Log and it's showing a Source Host name of an enhanced domain and Targe Hostname also with enhanced domain. The redirect reason is that due to a hostname mismatch.

There is no Referrer, so I don't know where this could have been run in.

Is this something that I have to worry about for this End of URL Redirection?

The URL is from a file uploaded to Static Resource and used in an Installed Package for Email templates.

Hello!  I've seen this question asked before but am struggling to find a clear response.  We have been using My Domain for a while and use Okta for authentication.  Since our instance already ends with .my.salesforce.com and that is what is used with Okta, should we plan for an alternative way to login once Enhanced Domains is enabled?  I don't want to be locked out of my org but don't want to spend time working through a secondary authentication method if it's unnecessary.  Thank you! #EnhanceDomain #SSO #Salesforce Admin #Salesforce Developer

The answer is Yes & No

for Sandbox URL will change so an the entity name you need to contact the SSO provider with new details where .sandbox will be appended, for production no impact. Assuming you having a domain name and not using test.salesforce.com or login.salesforce.com

Hello,

  • Are there any more office hours happening for Enhanced Domains?
  • Our sandboxes had enhanced domains automatically enabled to them back in December 2022 when we refreshed our pipeline.  We did not get the opportunity to test.  Do you have recommendations or a similar scenario so that we can test before enforcement?

Thank you for your help.

    Hi @Zachary Kampel,

    Thank you for the response.

Our sandboxes are already migrated to enhanced domain after we refreshed our pipeline at the beginning of the year.  All new sandboxes are created with enhanced domains too.

I think I just found the article that I need to test in sandbox and production before the enforcement of enhanced domains.

    This group is very helpful!

Does it mean enhanced domains is already enabled by SF ? I think yes. But the reason I am asking, I decided to defer it in April month & not to auto-enabled by SF. As far as  I know, Oct-2023 was the deadline from SF. Am I missing anything on it?

Is enhanced domain enabled ?

Hi @Mayank Pandya - I'm very glad that it sounds like you're not having any significant issues with enhanced domains.

To answer your question about why the feature was deployed with Summer '23, that was the case for all customers.

    More Details

When you deferred the auto-deployment, that was only for the Spring '23 release (in February for production orgs). There was no option to opt out of the auto-deployment in the Summer '23 release. The only option in Summer '23 is to disable the feature after auto-deployment if you need more time to test and remediate issues. And the feature is enforced in Winter '23 (starting in August 2023 for sandbox orgs and in September 2023 for production orgs), meaning that it's deployed and can't be disabled.

The auto-deployment in Summer '23 was announced via the following methods:

It's also covered in the Salesforce Enhanced Domains FAQ and the Enhanced Domains overview video, plus the image for this channel.

    I hope that this helps.

Hello Trailblazers!  I'm hoping someone here might be able to help out with some info. Our team is looking to enable Enhanced Domains prior to Winter '24 (we've reverted the enablement until we could properly enable this). At the advice of our Success Manager, we are looking into booking an expert coaching session for Enhanced Domains, but when I looked at the catalog I wasn't sure which one would fit best for Enhanced Domains. Has anyone booked an expert coaching session for this? And if so, which session did you schedule? Thanks in advance!

When I refresh our sandboxes (dev, test & stage) will I have to totally recreate the connected apps, update the Callback URL or the Entity ID for SSO?

Enhanced Domains are enabled in the sandboxes and will be Production before the sandboxes are refreshed.

Thanks in advance.

@Gwenn Ferguson After refreshing a sandbox in Salesforce, the following steps will be necessary to re-establish the connected apps:

    1. Re-create the connected apps: You'll need to recreate all the connected apps that were present
    2. Update the Callback URL: If you have connected apps that use OAuth authentication, you'll need to update the callback URL for each app.
    3. Update the Entity ID for SSO: If you're using Single Sign-On (SSO) with your connected apps, you'll need to update the Entity ID for each app. This ID should be unique to each connected app and should also be updated after the sandbox refresh.

Note: Enhanced domains are not related to the connected apps. Refreshing the sandboxes should not impact the enhanced domains, as they will already be enabled in the sandboxes and will remain so after the refresh.

It's always a good idea to test the connected apps thoroughly after the sandbox refresh to ensure that they are working as expected and that all the necessary updates have been made.

Reading the release notes I'm unsure how to delay until Winter 24.

The release notes say;

When: Salesforce deploys enhanced domains in Spring ’23. You can postpone that automatic deployment via a My Domain option. In Summer ’23, Salesforce deploys enhanced domains in orgs without the feature deployed. You can disable this feature until Salesforce enforces this update in Winter ’24. Orgs created in Summer ’22 or later get enhanced domains by default.

But also says this, with no mention of Winter...

To postpone the automatic deployment of enhanced domains until Summer ’23, disable a My Domain setting before the org gets Spring ’23.

Any thoughts... thanks.

Hi @Todd Halfpenny and thanks for this question. You're correct. There was a way to opt out of the automatic deployment in Spring '23. There is no opt-out option for Summer '23. The feature is deployed, and if you need, you can disable it after it's deployed. If you choose to do so, enhanced domains are deployed again in Winter '23, at which point, you can't disable it.

We continue to encourage everyone to test and deploy enhanced domains on their own before enforcement. If you encounter an issue, the ability to disable the feature temporarily to resolve the issue only exists before enforcement.

I've enabled enhanced domains and now none of the images are visible in the case feed from my community portal. I know this is likely because the file urls changed, but is there a way to make feed item images visible again so our customers aren't just seeing broken images in their feed? #EnhanceDomain

Thanks for asking, and thanks for deploying Enhanced Domains. It is generally unexpected for images in a case feed to not load, since old URLs are expected to get redirected to their new hostname. It's good to ensure that the option in the My Domain setup page to redirect the force.com hostnames is enabled. If it's already enabled or if that doesn't help, it's good to raise a case with Salesforce Support. It's also possible to turn off Enhanced Domains and deploy that change to restore the URLs back to what they were in the interim.

    Please check integration end points.

Please check if any manage package has hard coded URL in their manage package.

Please check if any url has been hard coded in your org in VF page, LWC, apex

We have several packages that that are published from Salesforce one example is Pardot#. As part of pre-deployment for enhanced domains I am going through each installed package and ensuring that the latest edition includes fixes for enhanced domains. As this is a Salesforce update will I need to check for any package provided from Salesforce/Salesforce.com. #EnhanceDomain #Spring23

best bet is to raise a case with salesforce support and get confirmation. Since these are salesforce owned packages.. you can possibly enable enhanced domain in sandboxes and test the package functionality.. with and without re-direct.

That will help confirm on impact
