I am having a hard time in tracking and reporting on Lead, Contacts and Accounts Email activities to understand if we are or we are not prospecting in Salesforce Sales Cloud.

I have installed the Salesforce Inbox features and it´s working well logging all our emails into the related records, but when I pull Lead, Contacts or Account Reports, the "Last Activity" field in report sometimes is blank for records that have email activity. This is making it confussing to track activity and avoid duplicating efforts on prospecting.

Is there an accurate way to track and report on Email Activitity or this is not availble in Salesforce?

    Got it - unless you have the paid version of EAC or some other entitlements (listed here) , then standard reporting may not work for emails logged via EAC as these are stored off-platform (AWS). Check out this article from @Tom Bassett on how to unlock reporting with EAC - it contains some useful information on how to effectively report on those activities, as well as highlighting some of the benefits and challenges of the feature.

Hi everyone !

When I was looking through GA, I realised I could not find the last tracked emails I recently sent. I did not change anything to my tracking and it used to work for a long time.

Here is an example of what my tracking looks like :

utm_source=marketingcloud

utm_medium=email

utm_campaign=example-2024

utm_content=B2C

Did I miss an update about the way to track emails through Salesforce Marketing Cloud ? Or is there a problem with my tracking/with filling in my tags ?

Thank you for your help !

Alexia

    Hi Alexia,I believe Google has a processing delay of 24-48 hours for non real-time reports. Was your email send in that window? Otherwise would advice to do an end to end test:

    - set-up test journey / email and use your adress as recipient

    - when e-mail received , check by clicking on each button, on the landing page if url contains utm tagging ( in adress bar

    )- with multiple devices click on the url from the email

    - see if it pops up on GA real-time report ( make sure your companies ip is not excluded )

    - see why it works in test and not in production ( what is the difference in settings )

    - otherwise check the full url from above, and allign with your internal / external GA product owner why it isn’t coming through .

Apple Mail Privacy Bombshell this September

This coming September Apple will be releasing their latest update IOS 15  which will include an update to Apple Mail where the subscribers IP and Open Rate activity will no longer be passed back to any ESPs. There are also rumor's on the message boards around the web Google might be doing this too.

 So what will that mean for you?

Firstly the big thing to note is that this particular update will mean Apple will pass back that all subscribers have opened their email (regardless if they have or not) which you will then see an increase in your open rates, but in turn a decrease in your Open to Click rate.   If you use the engagement split in Journey Builder you will need to now start looking at using Click only to determine if someone is engaged which means if you plan on sending a second email it shouldn't be the same email with a different subject line but a brand new email.

 We encourage you to all consider this new update as a shift in email marketing and that email should be the gateway to the message you want to convey to the customers, so making emails short and sharp with corresponding landing pages or interactive will be the new normal!    If you want any help in how you can transform your emails into click friendly gateways post below! Happy to share some insights!

So I'm utilizing MC for a B2B company and sending tracking results back to Sales Cloud. When I look at a particular contact (subscriber) in Sales Cloud and view the individual email results, I see that he has 6 clicks but no opens. Is this because  B2B email filters like Barracuda are going through and registering clicks on my emails, but the customer is never actually opening the email? Have any B2B marketers utilizing SFMC and the connector with Sales Cloud run into this? #B2B Lightning #Emailtracking #Metrics

    Thank you @Baneen Qazi ! I hadn't thought of the image loading, but that is a great catch. Are you aware of any workaround for Outlook customers?

GMAIL APP: TABS AND EMAIL TRACKING

Hello Community,

I recently updated our user's Gmail apps following the Inbox switchover notifications. Whilst investigating why email tracking isn't working I now see that the app we have is not fully setup.

UPDATE:

I figured out the Gmail Integration/Email Application Panes needed to be setup in the Lightning app. All done now so I have all the tabs & Email Tracking option showing.

I'm not 100% sure what component to add in the Lightning app under the Feed tab - any advice?

And having tested some emails sent from Gmail, I'm not too sure where we will be seeing the tracking show up: on a related Contact record (I am seeing an Unopened icon) or under the Feed tab in the app which I've added Email Tracking List to but nothing showing?

Thanks,

Steve

Hello, everyone!

I need some help with an HTML email status issue. I'm using Salesforce classic, Enterprise edition, and as of about October (3 moths ago) the HTML email status stopped showing up for some emails. The emails are sent but there is no record of it in the HTML Email Status related list on the contact page.

I have Email Tracking turned on in Activity Settings and otherwise did not change any email settings or templates. I read through Documentation and Answers on Trailblazer and neither of them seem to have relevant information.

Does anyone have an idea of what might be the problem and how to fix it? I would appreciate any feedback.

Hi everyone,

I have a custom object call "XYZ". I'm actually using journey builder to empower my custom object with some emails. I click salesforce data and bring on some data to the journey, i add an email activity, then click on "Send tracking results to Sales Cloud".

Why i can't see the results of the emails?

Email Tracking with Inbox - When using Inbox, Email Tracking results don't seem to be available in Salesforce. Per this help doc, cited at the bottom of this post: In the Outlook client or using OWA on the utilities tab select the “Goto read Receipts” to spawn the pop out window.

I only seem to see info on my "Feed" tab in the Inbox side panel. Is there somewhere else I should be looking? And can someone confirm this information won't show up in Salesforce?

When sending an email directly from Salesforce, I can see on the Activity timeline whether or not the email was opened (we have "Enable Email Tracking" Activity Setting enabled). Our users are looking for this same functionality with Inbox so I'm just trying to confirm my understanding of the differences, limitations, etc.

(Side note - I acknowledge that false positives are totally possible when using this)

    Was this resolved in Summer '20?

    I am thinking not as we we just started using Inbox with Gmail and our users want to see the email tracking info in both their Inbox "Feed" as well as on the activity timeline (they currently only see tracking for emails sent via Inbox in their Inbox "Feed" and tracking for emails sent via Salesforce on the activity timeline).

    Correction: I just re-tested and it appears to be working correctly. It may have just taken some time to get this functionality working on our new inbox installation.

Hi All, has anyone experienced a sudden loss of tracking in Pardot for certain users? I'm guessing this is a setting, but unable to figure out what it would be. This is an internal user and suddenly her website activity is no longer being tracked in Pardot and the links from our emails (redirects, forms) no longer work.

    Thanks all - I'm not sure what the setting was, but we confirmed her spouse created settings on her browser that was causing all the problems. No good deed goes unpunished! Thanks again for the support!

Hi everyone, I am trying to implement this conversion pixel on a web page:

<img src ='http://click.s11.exacttarget.com/conversion.aspx?xml=<system><system_name>tracking</system_name><action>conversion</action><member_id>514031</member_id><job_id>119</job_id><sub_id>651</sub_id><list>450_HTML</list><original_link_id>137512</original_link_id><BatchID>1</BatchID><conversion_link_id>1</conversion_link_id><link_alias>Redimir</link_alias><display_order>1</display_order><data_set><data amt=\"1\" unit=\"Downloads\" accumulate=\"true\" /></data_set></system>' width = "1" height ="1">

I have enabled the conversion="true" check, and i can see the conversions when I use lists. But, My problem is when I send by journey builder, the conversion is not reflected. I have tried using journey builder with plublication lists, but conversions are not reflected either.

Thanks!!
