The MVP specific is simply that I'm an MVP and the MVP Collaboration Space is a channel I've been active in, so it was one that I have always posted by blog post notifications to. (Though that channel gets a lot less traffic now that there is an official MVP Slack.) I tag groups not based on topic, but based on membership (ie. ones I am a member of and regularly follow).

You're not alone in it being hard to filter content on the TBC. There's a lot here. My strategy is to pick a couple of channels that I actively watch. I usually set those to notifications for Every Post. Or I go in every so often and just skim down. (I used to read the weekly digests for a bunch of others, but for a while now I've just been ignoring the weekly digests because they're too overwhelming.) It's still overwhelming.

While you could technically use DPE for this, it's not really the best approach... There are two I have used in the past that have worked for me:

1. Flow - you could create a scheduled flow to run every evening to calculate the new totals for any donor who has given in the previous 24 hours. Pull all of their donations since the start of the year and sum them to the fields you've created

2. Use DLRS - this is a 3rd party tool (free) that a lot of people (non profits and beyond) use for exactly this purpose. Declarative Lookup Roll-up Summary allows you to configure a process that it generates apex code for (since apex can be more efficient for large data manipulation than flow). A few clicks and you're done (you don't have to know how to code apex for this at all!)

When creating a Rollup filter on the page in the top right corner next to the limit setting you'll see there's an additional field, the text reads:

Limit this rollup to _____ child records per parent.

Skips _____ child records per parent.

 These settings allow you to return only a limited number of child records from those that past the filter criteria defined in step 3.  This can be used for things like returning the 5 most recent task names, 3 largest opportunities, first contact created for the account   

The Skips field can be used if you want to know something like the 2nd newest created record The sort order determines if you are selecting the oldest or newest records ASC puts the newest records at the top of the list. Limit 2 will pull the 2 newest records, and if you only want the 2nd newest record you would set Skips 1 child records per parent.
