I created a personal developer sandbox and have been able to create classes and triggers for the past month or so, however when I open the Dev Console today, the Run action doesn't appear in the upper right corner and when I click Go To it says:

"The symbols have not been retrieved from Salesforce. Try to save or compile your class to retrieve the symbol table."

I've tried looking up what to do and I found this article but I don't know what or how to use ApexClassMember, MetadataContainer, etc. to get the SymbolTable.

I appreciate any help!!

Hola foro, estoy tratando de utilizar una cuenta developer edition sin embargo cuando me llega el correo para verificar no me permite setear mi contraseña, ¿alguien con el mismo problema?

Is there any way to test the apex class methods which are based on caseHistory Object?

Hello Vamshi,
You need to create fake data for CaseHistory (just like you create the records for Case Object in test method) and use that data in the test class.

What is client application provided by salesforce?

Are the data import wizard, workbench ,data loader and salesforce inspector client application provided by salesforce?

A data import wizard is an option directly inside Salesforce. workbench is an API Based Service and it is not provided by salesforce. in most o the secured financial projects, you won't be allowed to use the workbench at all. similarly, Inspector is a web-based chrome application and again this is not a salesforce product.

LimitException: Too many DML statements: 151

Hi,

Could you please share in detail why this code throw the below error : " Too many DML statements: 151"

for (Account thisAccount :[select id,industry from Account limit 150]) { if (thisAccount.industry =='Technology') {thisAccount.industry ='Technology Related'; } update thisAccount; }

Here a only have 1 SOQL query and DML statement.

Also can you please help me to see how much time the DML executed in debug log?

Hi @Abdullah Abdullah this code shouldn't have thrown the DML 151 error as it is exactly making 150 DML Operations. but you are Updating Accounts it may so happen it might be making some other process to run which might be performing Update or any other database operation. but all of this is happening in a single transaction so it hit the DML limit. if you really want to understand what other activity is happening you need to trace your Logs. other ways are analyzing the debug in perspective mode. once you run this code in an anonymous window view your log in analysis mode for that goto-> debug -> change perspective to the analysis refer bellow

one you are in analysis mode you can analyze better what operation was performed and all

To see the Limits you will have to change the debug level to Finest then you can see limits in the 2nd tab

as you can see your exact code didn't throw an exception as it exactly consumed 150 DML. in your org it is doing some extra updates. run the code in new org with 150 accounts it will not throw an exception.

Hope it answers your questions. the crux of this discussion is we should write code with the best Practice to avoid hitting such limits
