Salesforce.org Experience Cloud

A public group for discussions around Salesforce Experience Cloud (formerly known as Community Cloud).

Anyone else feel like their member data is scattered across way too many places?

Read something that hit close to home: a member says she never got her renewal reminder, the CRM has the wrong date, finance has the right one in a spreadsheet nobody synced back, and her event attendance lives in a totally different tool. Classic "we have the data, just not the picture" situation.

What stuck with me was the difference between member

data and member intelligence. Knowing someone hasn't logged in for 90 days is data. Realizing that means they need an actual call instead of another automated email, that's the useful part.

Also liked the checklist for actually assessing how fragmented your data is, rather than just assuming it's fine. Sharing here in case it's useful for anyone doing membership ops on Salesforce:

Hi Experts,

We have a requirement to build a public Experience Cloud portal where users can purchase event tickets and also book meeting spaces, properties, or rooms. Revenue is generated from both ticket sales and space rentals.

  •  For ticket sales, my understanding is that Salesforce manages this using Opportunities, Products, and Opportunity Line Items.
  • However, for booking meeting spaces / properties / rooms, the requirement is to support rental-based bookings where users can:

                  1. View available spaces in the portal

                  2. Book them for specific dates and times

                  3. See availability based on already booked resources

I am not sure if there is any native solution available in Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud to support this type of asset or resource booking.

I have reviewed Salesforce Scheduler, but it appears to be more suitable for appointment booking with service resources, whereas our requirement is focused on asset booking and availability tracking, such as rooms, tables, chairs, or properties.

Has anyone implemented a similar scenario using Salesforce (Nonprofit Cloud or Experience Cloud)?

 Please guide me on the recommended approach or best practices to get better clarity on how to solution this scenario.

Hi Experts,

We have built a multilingual community portal and translated all fields and labels using Translation Workbench.

Now the requirement is as follows:

  • When the portal is used in Spanish, the portal users enter data in Spanish.
  • Salesforce internal users see the same data in Spanish, but they only understand English.
  • Similarly, when a Salesforce internal user enters data in English, the portal user should see the same data automatically translated into Spanish.

From my initial analysis, Salesforce does not natively support automatic translation of field values. Translation Workbench only translates labels, picklist values, and metadata — not actual text field data.

It seems this may require a third-party translation tool or API integration.

Has anyone faced a similar requirement or found a working solution for this?

Please guide me on how to achieve this.

Hello,

I'm very new to the topic, so sorry for the stupid question:

I'm trying to add a new custom content type to my workspace. I've installed the CMS Custom Content Manager and I have the "CMS Content Types" permission, but when I want to add content, I can still only choose between the standard types.

What am I doing wrong?

    When you install CMS Custom Content Manager, you can define and manage custom content types, but just creating them isn’t enough — you also need to publish and associate them properly with your CMS Workspace before they’ll appear in the “Add Content” dialog.

    Step-by-Step Fix

    1. Confirm the Custom Content Type is Published

    Go to:

    App Launcher → CMS Home → Content Management → CMS Content Types

    Open your custom content type record.

    Make sure:

    The Status is set to Published.

    The API Name and Developer Name are valid (no spaces or special chars).

    It has at least one field definition added.

    If it’s still Draft, it won’t show up when adding content.

    2. Assign the Content Type to Your CMS Workspace

    Even if the type exists and is published, it won’t appear until you link it to a workspace.

    Go to CMS Home -> Workspaces

    Click into your specific Workspace.

    Select the “Content Types” tab.

    Click “Add Content Type” → Choose your custom type → Save

    Now, the workspace knows it can use that content type.

    3. Verify Permissions

    You said you have the “CMS Content Types” permission — that’s good, but double-check you also have:

    CMS Channel Admin or CMS Workspace Member

    Access to the specific workspace (you should appear as a member)

    To confirm:

    In CMS Workspaces, open your workspace → Members tab → make sure your user is listed.

    4. Try Creating Content Again

    Now go to:

    CMS Home → Workspaces → Your Workspace → Add Content

Hi,

I'm experiencing a issue with <lightning-file-upload> in LWR site when the component is deployed as part of a Second-generation managed package. The same code works perfectly fine with unpackaged code in a scratch org. what could be the issue?

The Issue:

When I click the "Upload Files" button, I see this JavaScript error in the browser console:

[ERROR] Failed to load modal. Please contact your Admin. TypeError: i.open is not a function

UPDATE: I have observed that it is working in Site Preview but doesn't work on published site

    I have checked and everything looks fine but not sure what the issue could be!

 In my Aura site, I'm using the Rich Content Editor to import images. However, I’d like to globally adjust the size of all Rich Content Editor instances using CSS. I’m looking to understand if this is possible, and if so, would appreciate a sample CSS snippet or any suggested solution

     Thanks for the input! However, I’m unable to find the properties section where I can add the CSS class to the Rich Content Editor component. Could you please guide me on where exactly to add it in the Properties Panel? Also, I had tried this code earlier by adding it to the site's theme CSS file, but it didn’t seem to apply any changes.

    I would like to expect the similar kind of the code

    .slds-icon-standard-product-workspace{

        color: white;

        background: black;

    .slds-button_icon-more{display:none;}

    .slds-icon-utility-down{display:none;}
