Set Up ARC for Retail Bankers
Learning Objectives
After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:
- Identify who needs to view ARC graphs.
- Create an ARC permission set.
- Review object and field level access.
Identify Who Needs Access
As you begin to use Actionable Relationship Center (ARC), identify who needs to use ARC so you can assign the correct permissions for viewing and interacting with relationship graphs on record pages.
At Cumulus, Nora’s level of access to cards on a graph is determined by her object- and record-level access in Salesforce. For example, if Nora has only read access to the Case object, she can only view case cards on a graph. This means she won’t be able to create or edit cases on ARC graphs.
To ensure the best user experience, before building an ARC graph, list those who need to use it. Then, as you add objects, fields, and actions to the ARC graph nodes, review user access levels.
In this unit, you learn more about setting user access levels.
Create and Assign an ARC Permission Set
To start, create a permission set to give access to view ARC graphs.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter
Permission Sets, and then click Permission Sets. - Click Clone next to the Financial Services Cloud Extension permission set.
- Enter a label, such as
FSC with ARC. - Clear the API name field, and press Tab to continue to the next field. The API Name field auto-populates.
- Optionally, edit the Description field.
- Save your work.
- In the Permission Sets list, click the name of the newly created permission set.
- Click the System Permissions link.
- Confirm Access Actionable Relationship Center permission is selected. If it’s not selected, edit the permission set and select Access Actionable Relationship Center, then save your changes.
Next, assign the permission set to a user, such as Nora at Cumulus.
Review User Object and Field Level Access
After you assign the permission set, review user profiles to verify the object- and field-level access to the objects in the ARC graph.
For example, at Cumulus the Account object will be the parent object, and you’ll include three fields on the Account node: Account Number, Billing Address, and Phone.
Here’s how to check those permissions on a profile.
- From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter
Profiles, and then click Profiles. - Select the appropriate profile.
- Click Object Settings.
- For the Account object name, verify the Object Permissions are Read, Create, Edit, and Delete.
- Click Accounts.
- In Field Permissions, verify read and edit access to account number, billing address, and phone.
With that, Cumulus banker Nora is all set! She can create, edit, read, and delete accounts, and she has read and edit access to the fields. Plus, she has permissions to view ARC relationship graphs and the right access to the Account object.
