After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:

  • Configure the Branch Management console app.
  • Add Branch Selector component to the Branch Management app.
  • Add Branch Unit related lists.
  • Create branch units.
  • Create bankers and associate bankers with branch units.

Configure the Branch Management Console App

Before adding branch units and bankers, Matt must change a few settings to make Branch Management easier to use. FSC offers a console app that provides easy access to Branch Management objects. Here’s how Matt configures the app.

  1. Click Setup and then Setup.
  2. In the Quick Find box, enter app manager, and select App Manager.
  3. Next to Branch Management, click Down arrow and then Edit.
  4. In the App Settings sidebar, select Navigation Items.
  5. Add Branch Units, Branch Unit Business Members, Branch Unit Customers, and Bankers to the Selected Items column.
The Lightning App Builder page section with Branch Management navigation items added.
  6. Click Save.
Note

Note
You can also access the Branch Management objects from the App Launcher.

Add the Branch Selector Component

Branch Selector is a utility bar component tool that would allow Hank to quickly select the branch he’s working at. And Matt has already enabled automatic branch association. So when Hank selects a branch, any account he creates is automatically associated with him and the selected branch.

Here’s how Matt adds the tool to the Branch Management app.

  1. Click Setup and then Setup.
  2. In the Quick Find box, enter app manager, and select App Manager.
  3. Next to Branch Management, click Down arrow and then Edit.
  4. In the App Settings sidebar, select Utility Items (Desktop Only).
  5. Click Add Utility Item and then select Branch Selector.
The Lightning App Builder page with Branch Selector component selected.
  6. In the Label field, enter Branch Selector.
  7. (Optional) Change properties like icon and panel dimensions.
  8. Click Save.
Note

Note
You can add Branch Selector component only to apps whose App Type is Lightning.

FSC provides three related lists for a branch unit record: Branch Unit Business Members, Branch Unit Related Records, and Branch Unit Customers. These related lists provide quick access to branch unit related details and contextual actions. Here’s how Matt adds them.

  1. Click Setup | Setup | Object Manager tab.
  2. In the Quick Find box, enter branch unit and select Branch Unit.
  3. Click Page Layouts and then Branch Unit Layout.
  4. In the object palette, click Related Lists.
  5. Drag and drop Branch Unit Business Members, Branch Unit Related Record, and Branch Unit Customers onto the Related Lists section.
The Page Layout editor with the Branch Unit Customers related list component added.
  6. Click Save and then Yes.
