Hello Trailblazers! 👋
My name is Enrique. I’ve been working at my company for 8 years as a Salesforce Admin—a role I’ve held since I joined.
While many teams across the company use Sales Cloud daily, and engineers in our Data Team build pipeline automations (via REST API) or analytics (Tableau), I am the sole person responsible for the platform itself, its architecture, and its administration.
While my official job title remains Salesforce Admin, my leadership and I agree that my actual responsibilities have long outgrown traditional administration. I’d love your objective take on where my profile sits in the market based on my day-to-day work:
- End-to-End Architecture & Data Modeling: Fully design and manage the data model (custom objects, complex relationships), security framework (roles, profiles, permission sets), and platform governance for Sales Cloud (~37 users and growing).
- ERP Integrations & Technical Leadership: Conceptualized and designed the data flow architecture between Salesforce and ERPs (NetSuite, FinancialForce/Certinia, Sage). I led the implementation project alongside 2 software engineers, building all the Salesforce-side components (Objects, Flows, Apex, LWC).
- Business Analysis & Business Impact: Direct partner to cross-functional stakeholders (Finance, Data, Product). I translate business needs into technical solutions, eliminating manual operations and measurably improving key company operational metrics.
- Complex Data Migrations: Led and executed full data and org migrations from external systems (SugarCRM) and handled org-to-org consolidations following company acquisitions.
- Data Quality, Security & Governance: Fully manage AppExchange tools like Cloudingo (data cleansing/deduplication) and Cloudally (backups/disaster recovery). Currently technical lead for implementing data privacy/compliance (GDPR) frameworks on the platform.
- ALM & Delivery: Manage environment strategy using a Full Sandbox for testing and deployment via Outbound Change Sets.
- Declarative + Programmatic Balance: 80% advanced declarative solutions (Flows) + 20% programmatic development (Apex / LWC).
We are currently reviewing my job title.
Based on this scope, how would you classify my role and job title in today’s Salesforce market?
Thank you so much for your feedback! ☁️❤️ 🚀
You're welcome, Enrique — glad it helped clarify things. Best of luck with the title review, and feel free to post again once you've got clarity on cert paths or the new title, happy to help further.
