#UTM Parameters2 personnes en discutent

We have a client who is looking to run a number of marketing campaigns across LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.

When someone signs up to their newsletter via one of the ads, they want the lead to be created in Salesforce, but they also want to be able to identify which specific ad or campaign the lead originated from.

Our current thinking is that each ad would direct users to a web form on the client's website, which would then submit the information into Salesforce using Web-to-Lead. However, we're not 100% sure of the best way to track which ad the submission came from and pass that information into Salesforce.

Could someone advise on the best approach? Alternatively, if there's a better way of achieving this with little to no additional cost, we'd really appreciate any recommendations.

Thanks!

Hi Philippa, a way to tell which ad a lead came from is UTM parameters captured via hidden fields on your Web-to-Lead form, plus a hidden Campaign Id field to auto link leads to a specific Campaign. This should be of no additional cost and is low complexity.

Passing URL parameters from cookie to iframe

I'm having Pardot forms in an iframe on Sitecore.

Sitecore is storing the UTM values in cookies.

Now I need to capture those values in the forms inside the iframe.

I have found this article https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=000317377&type=1&mode=1 on how to pass values from the URL to the iframe, but as the parameters can get lost if the prospect is clicking on another page before coming back to fill out the form, it would be perfect to find a way how to pass the values stored in the cookie to the iframe

Did someone already do that? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Tom

Hi, does anyone know if in order to track different Pardot forms, say in different languages for example, do I need to create a landing page for each one of them in order to be able to track and get the lead source from the URL that was set, if every form is going to have a different lead source, campaign, etc?

I’m trying to avoid having to do a custom redirect and landing page for every form used in third party paid ads since it can be multiple url/links for every paid ad that goes live.

thanks in advance for your help!

Pardot

Hi everyone:

How are you implementing the "Source Campaign" in Pardot?

How could I configure it such that the "Source Campaign" is set based on Pardot's default Source field or some other variable (e.g. "Campaign X" when the default Source value is "X" and "Campaign Y" if the default Source value is "Y," etc.)?

I have the Pardot WordPress Plugin installed, where I've set the "Campaign (for Tracking Code)" field to Pardot's default Campaign "Website Tracking," but it appears that this Campaign becomes the default "Source Campaign" for all Prospects, whereas I would like to set it dynamically. Should I not use the Pardot WordPress Plugin at all?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much in advance!

Hi there,

I would like to know whether it's possible to create dynamic URLs for dynamic content variations in Pardot.

I have 2 emails that go out in a workflow at different trigger points. These 2 emails  have different UTM parameters for all the links contained in them.

The 2 emails contain a dynamic content slice that contains 1 or more CTAs linking off to actions in our customer account. I would like these CTAs to dynamically contain the same UTM parameters as the rest of the email they are in.

Is this possible to do?

Cheers!

    Hi @Jack Jewsbury

You are not able to have the links dynamically change the parameters on the links. You'd have to manually set the parameters on each custom redirect and then place those in the different options within the dynamic content sections.

    I hope this helps!

My question is about tracking UTM parameters. We use an embedded Pardot form on our website and used this article, https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=000317377&type=1&mode=1, to set up the form. Everything is tracking correctly if a user hits the landing page and converts on the page they entered on but the issue we’re running into is when a user comes to the page with specific UTM parameters and then visits other pages before converting on the form (after leaving the page they enter on, the UTM parameters are lost). Does anyone have ideas on what to implement to make the UTM parameters pass from page to page so the tracking is still there? Our Pardot version does not include the Google Connector (which I believe would cookie the session and pull the parameters through when the user visits other pages) so just wanted to see if there are other options to try.

Are you using the Google Analytics parameters to create URLs with UTM codes as part of the custom redirect builder in Pardot?

The CSV export for custom redirects provides all of the information including destination, tracked and short URLs but sadly does not include the Full Destination URL with the UTM code. Our Web/SEO team needs a full list of these URLs with UTM codes to have insight to the traffic in Google Analytics – Does your team need this information too?  If so please vote up my idea on the CSV export on the idea exchange.  https://success.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=0873A000000CZ0aQAG
