Hello,

I ve tried several times and in different ways but I m still unable to install a package from AppExchange.

here is what I tried :

1/ I ve created a Salesforce Developer Edition and linked this (email) account to my trailhead account.

-> when I try to install the package,  the system does not find my connected account and I have the message "We didn't find any Salesforce ...".

2/ I then checked in the community and found things like "do a trailhead challenge and then pick your org at some point, it will become available instead of that message". But same miserable failure : my Dev Org is not recognized and still this same message.

3/ When on this error message, I then decided to pick the last option which is "Create a free trial" because it says "After you start your free trial of Salesforce, come back to AppExchange and install the package." But at the end of the day, same message.

If someone has a clue or can help that would be awesome.

I do love Salesforce when it s up and running but this trailhead / trial thing / connected account process that I do every two years, I'm sorry but I don't get it !!!

Hi Community,

I am learning on Salesforce Unlocked Packages for developing an Internal application.

While going through the module  Unlocked Packages for Customers, I noticed that after a package version is created, anyone can install this unlocked package by using the Package Version Id.

The only protection mechanism available is only the installation key.

Since Unlocked Packages is being advocated for distributing internal applications on Salesforce, are there any additional measures that provide a more secure means of protecting the distribution of Unlocked Packages for internal usage?

Appreciate any advice on this.

Thank you!

Regards,

Win

Has anyone faced any issues with the new Backup and Restore product provided by Salesforce?

Installation Guide

Once the package is installed, I am unable to view the Settings (Step 4) with an error;

You do not have the proper permissions to use this application.

To me, logically you would think, let's skip to step 9 and add the Permission Set.

Afraid not as I then get the following error;

Can't assign permission set BackupRestore to user XX XX. The user license doesn't allow the permission: Custom Permission BackupAndRestoreAccess is not valid for this Permission Set.  My profile is the System Administrator with the Salesforce Licence.

I've raised this with Salesforce a week ago however no solution as yet.

Is anyone else facing this issue or found a solution?

Having played about with the Setup, please do Steps 8 & 9 prior to Step 3.

This will allow you to correctly instal Backup and Restore

Hello,

I had a hard time uninstalling the "Project Management Tool - PMT" after following all the necessary steps (such as deactivating flows and removing page layouts). I encountered the following error:

Case.PMT Project Page Layout

"This installed component is referenced by a locally created component. System Administrator"

Even after removing the page layout, the issue persisted.

To resolve this, I switched to classic mode, accessed the page layout for the Case object, deleted the existing layout, and reassigned a new layout for the profiles.

After making these changes, the removal was successful.

This is the module name from the Project Trail: Build a Data Model for a Recruiting App

When I try to install the package I am getting this message:

This package can’t be installed.

There are problems that prevent this package from being installed.

Package Not Found | The requested package doesn't yet exist or has been deleted. If this is a recently created package version, please try again in a few minutes or contact the package publisher.

I have tried to install this package in multiple sandboxes.

Here is the link to the package:  https://login.salesforce.com/packaging/installPackage.apexp?p0=04t0P000000APKH%20&_ga=2.83589846.15131459.1709570008-1302894487.1709570008

    Hi @Dan Bowlds,

I am from the Trailhead help team. I assume that this issue needs further review and we may need access to your Salesforce org where you are trying to complete the challenge. We will create a case on behalf of you for this issue and reach out to you via email to investigate further.

    Thank you!

Hi all!

I want to share with you the article about Second-Generation packages in Salesforce from my SF Dev colleague.  He collected all the features and the main differences between 1GP and 2GP there. It's just a personal experience, so maybe you will find it useful.

Hi All,

I'm trying to install the newer version of the FSC package from the below link. But I'm getting the attached error in an email with the package installation unsuccessful.

Is this a known issue?

Thanks.

We want to add a manage package to our source control, as we are going to add some metadata that will be dependent on this managed package. The problem is this managed package is password protected and I cannot find a way to pass that installation key under the dependencies attributes.  I've found some similar cases but they were like 4 years old, so I'm wondering if anything has changed since then and is it possible to pass an installation key in dependency?  #Package Installation #Password #Package Dependency

Why can't you script the installs and pass the installation key to the force:package:install command? Specifying installation key in the sfdx-project.json file is not supported.

Hi all!

We started refactoring our project using CumulusCI template and its automations. We have the following questions:

- Currently our project is organized in several unlocked packages and we would like to create ad hoc flows for package installation. Is it possible to install a password protected unlocked package through a CumulusCI task?

- Is it possible to access environment variables in cumulusci.yml definition?

Thanks a lot!
