Kai Williams a posé une question dans #NPSP

We have finally (YAY!) integrated Give Lively with Salesforce. And we've started using Give Lively events for some programatic events that are free but with an option to purchase a $10 ticket to support the work. We love having everything flow directly into Salesforce. However the many $0 opportunities that are being categorized as "donations" are confusing our reporting. My tentative solution is to delete these $0 opportunities as we typically don't consider attending this event as something that gets an opportunity - only a campaign member added.  Has anyone had a similar situation?  I'm thinking a flow that identifies and deletes $0 opportunities created by Give Lively

Congrats on getting Give Lively wired up! I would steer away from deleting these, deletion is fragile, the sync usually just recreates them on the next pull and you lose the registration link. Treat it as a categorization problem instead. A few layers, best first:

    1. Fix it at the source mapping if you can. Check whether Give Lively's Salesforce mapping lets you route free/0-dollar registrations to just a Campaign Member (or a non-donation object) instead of creating an Opportunity. If that toggle exists, it is the cleanest fix, the junk never gets created.

    2. If the integration creates the Opportunity regardless, do not fight it, reclassify it. Put free/ticket registrations on a dedicated Opportunity Record Type (e.g. 'Event Registration' or 'Ticket'), separate from your 'Donation' record type. Then two things fall into place:

    - Exclude that record type from NPSP donor rollups so it never inflates lifetime giving. NPSP lets you exclude specific Opportunity Record Types/Types from rollups (NPSP Settings > Donations for the legacy rollups; with Customizable Rollups you exclude via a filter group). That directly fixes the 0-dollars-counting-as-donations problem in your donor totals.

    - Your donation reports and dashboards then filter to Record Type = Donation (or Amount greater than 0), so the free registrations drop out cleanly.

    3. Track the free attendance where it belongs, as a Campaign Member on the event Campaign (which it sounds like you are already doing). That is the right home for 'attended,' and it keeps your engagement reporting intact without touching giving numbers.

Net: a dedicated record type + exclude-from-rollups + an Amount>0 (or record-type) report filter gets you clean donation reporting without deleting anything or losing the registration history. If free tickets keep coming through as donations even after that, revisit the Give Lively field mapping, that is where the record type gets stamped on the way in.

If this helps, please mark it as the Best Answer so it is easy for the next person to find. Thanks :)

I already know about #Give Lively and #Click And Pledge and DIY forms with #FormAssembly but what else is being loved these days?

Hi All,

I"m new to Salesforce & NPSP. Our org uses Give Lively for donations, and we want to integrate it with our NPSP product. Has anyone had experience with this? I'd love to connect. Thank you!

Hello, I am somewhat new to Salesforce and am implementing NPSP and V4S. I am looking at Give Lively for donations and how the App would integrate with Quick Books Online. I like the built in features for websites, texts, and peer-to-peer (although not perfect). Does anyone have experience with this? We haven't yet integrated fundraising. We have Patreon Membership donations, we can connect directly to them for now though. I feel that Give Lively would create the Opportunity and then QBO would bring the Opportunity or Donation to Quick Books. Does anyone have any experience using these 2 applications? Is there a better idea for a FREE donation app or reasons to simply integrate directly using PayPal or other Payment Processors? Thank you #Give Lively 😊

We use Give Lively but don't have finance connected to Salesforce. Finance looks at the Stripe account to make their entries. We like the website integration and the text to donate option. The struggle right now with peer-to-peer is that we do a lot of clean up in Salesforce since soft-credits aren't imported. We were doing a small amount of peer-to-peer so it wasn't horrible for us but if this is something you do a lot you may want to look into the process and how to better automate it.

We are using Give Lively to accept online donations and membership dues. We are in the process of integrating Give Lively with Salesforce and we are unclear about how to get the membership dues to map to the membership fields in Salesforce. Has anyone had luck doing something similar? Can we set up "flows?"

We have started accepting donations through Givelively, and when those are synced with salesforce, it looks like it will store the information about whether a donation is recurring or one time in the "Type" picklist field on the opportunity object.

I would like to utilize the recurring donations object since it seems like a great way to keep track of recurring donations, and especially to see how they relate to campaigns. However, when I try creating a recurring donation record, with a start date in the past,r that I can tie past donations to (in Sandbox), it automatically creates a bunch of opportunities and I wind up with duplicate donations (some created by the recurring donation, some that I imported through the NPSP data import wizard...

I'm also unsure of how to relate monthly donations through givelively to a recurring donation.

Has anyone else had experience with this (either givelively recurring donations or past donations that were bulk imported) and how did you handle it?

If you go to NPSP Settings and select the Recurring Donations tab and then Recurring Donations under that (confusing I know) there should be the ability to reduce toy Opportunity Forecast Months. This might meet your needs.

Our org is preparing for an integration with Give Lively (GL). Reading their documentation, a few things worry me: they have their own "Type" field for Opportunity and Campaign, but these will clash with our own "Type" fields in Salesforce on the same objects. They also auto-update the acknowledgement fields, but we want to keep those blank to track our own acknowledgement activity. For those who have done the integration, were you able to change GL's field labels and opt out of some field updates? Thank you.

Edit: For the sync to work I also have to disable the State and Country/Territory Picklists in Salesforce because GL uses a different set of country codes. This is not cool. We sometimes have to manually enter data in SF, so with the picklist disabled we'll have a list of inconsistent country/state names like USA, US, United States. In future if we decide to enable the picklist again, we'll have to scan our org and clean up inconsistent data first. All this work just because GL doesn't want to use the same country codes as SF?

I created a sandbox so that I could see how Give Lively would integrate with SalesForce.  I log in to sandbox;  go to marketplace; click to download; prompted to open a new log-in page.  On that page, my password -- that just worked in opening the sandbox-- is wrong.   What am I doing wrong? I've tried both my instance user name and my sandbox user name and reset the sandbox password. (I'm the admin.) What am I doing wrong?

@Jonathan Lin I saw your review about Give Lively. We're thinking of making the switch over and integrating it with our Salesforce (our current donation processor doesn't integrate at all, thus the switch). How well is the integration? Are you able to match donations to certain campaigns easily, or does it take more manual work? I haven't been able to find much info on Give Lively and SF at all, so would love your thoughts. Thanks!
