How can unauthenticated users rate my articles?

I am using lightning knowledge and I've enabled the thumbs up and thumbs down buttons; however, they only show for logged in users.     We use the Article Feedback object and for guest user profile give access to Apex Class: afl.afl_ArticleThumbVoteCtrl

Does anyone know if the Was This Article Helpful feature or Article Thumb Vote component does anything as it pertains to search results? We’re not using Einstein, but the ask was whether it had any impact on the Knowledge component’s suggested articles or the global search results. My inclination from the searching I've done is that it does not, but want to cross check

    I had heard otherwise, so this is really helpful. Although I'm struggling to interpret whether or not attaching articles to cases impacts results.

    The doc itself is a general search help doc, which states it prioritizes "records having more associated records, such as related lists." It then goes on to call out Knowledge separately by stating "Prioritizes Salesforce Knowledge records by various factors, including ratings and thumbs-up votes." Which doesn't rule it out, but doesn't confirm it either. Any insights on this?
