Hi Team,

As per the certification website below, the ADM 211 is supposed to be 60 questions within 90 mins. I had a few people take their ADM 211 today and they got 65 questions instead. Is this a yet to be announced change? because the website still shows as 60 items on both Admin exams.

I took the Developer 1 certification last week and experienced the same. However I had read that Salesforce usually throw in extra questions to fine tune their tests and guage readiness of candidates for the topic but these questions are never counted towards passing grade. Hope this helps.

Hello my #AwesomeAdmin people!

While I'm sure I am not the first to come across this, I think that might be encouraging news for there to be clever solutions out there to this all-too common dilemma.

In working with a non-profit client doing Pro Bono, they have effectively 7 ways of categorizing their CONTACTS:

* 5 are classified by checkboxes

* 2 are classified by picklists

In order for reports & dashboards to ever stand a chance of looking good, I know I have to find an effective way to group these contact types into one (or at most two categories).  I can think of a few ways to do this but want the communities input on other options I haven't explored.

We avoided the use of Multi-Select Picklists due to their long list of problems and limitations in many areas of SF.com.

Idea #1:

Create a workflow that concatenates any checkbox values that are TRUE into one field as a strand and this could be displayed always alphabetically (not sure how but I'm sure it's possible).  This would take care of at least grouping those five values with commas into one strand but it doesn't address the two fields that are categories by picklists.

How can 5 checkboxes and 2 pick list category type fields all be mashed up into one groupable / sortable field? This folks is the million $ dollar question!

Need help on this one.

I have a custom object where I am importing a file from an external source.  I would like to link the custom object to the Contact Object to pull data from Contact Object.  The Unique ID I want to use is an ID number and not the name.  At this time, I am using a lookup field but of course that uses name.

What is the best way to pull the appropriate name from the Contact Object without using the name?

Here are the issues we are running into:

1. When there are duplicate names in the Contact Object, the system pulls the first name listed.  For example, if there are two Jim Smith, it pulls the first one in the system.

2. If name is not an exact match in the file with the Contact Object, it will not load.

I've tried the Data Import Wizard thus far.  We plan to try a batch load with Data Loader next.

Any advice?  What are we missing?  Thanks!

    Hi James,

What I'm hearing is that you have a custom object, that has a Lookup(Contact) field on it? I'm not sure if you are getting stuck importing it with the correct Contact linked, or if you are having trouble after it's imported.

If you're dealing with the import file, you should always be using the Contact's ID. This is the number that starts with "003..." and is unique to that Contact. Once the file is imported, when you look at a record of your custom object, it will show the name of that Contact that you linked. When you are looking at a lookup field on a page layout that is linked to another record, Salesforce shows the Name of that record, (even though technically it's linked through the record ID) for convenience of recognition.

    Does this help?

Question on how to solve for #Formula Field scenario for a #Nonprofits I'm working with right now on a Pro bono basis.

Trying to convert the #TotalGifts field into a range of money donated so that it can be more easily grouped in reports & dashboards.

I thought that #Case formula would be the right fit but now I am rethinking it and perhaps #IF would be a better solution?

Business Requirement

Group the TotalGift dollar amounts into buckets that display a range instead of actual currency amount.  So if a donor had TotalGifts of $625.00 the new formula field would display = $500 - $1,000.

I got no syntax errors on the below, but it doesn't like the "501-1000" range and I also tried it by using ">500<1000" and it doesn't work that way either.

Thoughts/suggestions?

CASE( npo02__TotalOppAmount__c ,

1-50, ">$50",

51-100, "$50-$100",

101-500, "$100-$500",

501-1000, "$500-$1,000",

1001-5000, "$1,000-$5,000",

5001-1000000, ">$5,000",

"None")

Your explanation about grading tests/papers -- great analogy, got it. It worked (no surprise) and this is now working beautifully as a dashboard report.

I'll spare you getting to the punch --- I OWE you a BEER!

Hello! Is there anyone who passed the Sales Cloud Consultant exam and who could give me some points regarding the preparation? I'm planning to take this exam this April! Are there any study groups in London or materials (videos/mock-up exam questions) you could recommend as an additional to the Study Guide?

Thanks so much! :)

I work extensively with two  excellent Salesforce  apps - Fast Forms for online forms and surveys and Conga Composer for document output. On April 14th I will be one of the presenters for a free webinar showcasing how these two products have been extremely beneficial for one of my clients. Sign up using the link below

I have a custom object which I want to give read access to all profiles in the system. I know I can go to each profile and change object permissions but we have too many profiles. Is there any easy way other than permission set?

Good Friday Morning to All!

I am on the hunt for a good #CTI Adapter #Dialer solution that is native to Salesforce.com.  Our sales team doesn't need all the fancy bells and whistles with predictive analytics.  What we do care about are these three key aspects:

1) Full integration into the Sales Cloud UI - hopefully with the ability to customize the interface some

2) Screen "pop" or call routing as it's known so when an inbound call comes through the dialer queries SF.com to determine if it can find a record match to a Contact and if not to an Account and brings that screen forward

3) Speed & performance - we don't want the dialer to slow down screen refresh rate or load times

I've surveyed the CTI dialer market and in my opinion many of the ISVs out there are pricey.  We are looking for value and not  something that's going to cost 1/2 of what our SF.com Enterprise license costs each month.

Any help, recommendations or insights would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks Community!

@Marko Koosel when is Salesforce legitimately going to address this #IdeaExchange issue - https://success.salesforce.com/ideaView?id=08730000000BrD8AAK&sort=2?  This is something you yourself stated "This fix is really high on our roadmap and we will be working on it very soon."  That was 2 years ago.

Thanks @Guiseppe Hammer for your feedback. This idea is still very high on our list of priorities, however, we are working on other initiatives and other high priority ideaexchange ideas. Reports & Dashboards have lots of open ideas we are trying to address in the next few releases. Thanks
