#Professional Services0 debatiendo

If you’ve been following me you know I’ve been in the Salesforce Community for a while. I began back in 2007 as a Salesforce Administrator and it has certainly been a wild ride over the years, implementing Salesforce, FinancialForce and developing my voice in the Community.

I have learned so much, not just about the tool or the technology but about business as well. About how successful businesses find that sweet spot where the platform enables great business processes and empowers users.

Being able to help the business build a VISION around their processes with the technology in mind. Having an expert knowledge of how the tools can provide clarity and FOCUS to that vision. Doing it all with a PASSION that is palpable and helps drive results.

These are the things that fill my bucket.

And those three things: VISION, FOCUS, and PASSION are why I have chosen to join #TeamVFP as a Solution Architect.

I am beyond excited to make the move from Salesforce & FinancialForce Customer to Partner and join the amazing team at VFP Consulting.

“If you love it, it’s not work!”

I think I’m going to love it here!

Has anyone used forecasting for professional services? Which would be people, dollars and hours vs product ?

Our team is looking to start tracking their time as it related to providing services to customers. I'd like to see us utilize Salesforce and/or a tool that integrates with Salesforce to do this. Anyone here with experience to share? The use cases are a mix of case resolution time and professional services delivery so we may need to implement one or both depending on the requirements we gather. A couple thoughts: anyone use some sort of start/stop timer widget in service console related to a particular case and/or account? other thoughts? Thank you in advance for any advice. I'm looking for examples to share with our team as we discuss designing a solution.

Looking for someone who has experience with a company like ours who needs/wants to track the sales process, product implementation process and advisory services(professional services) for the technology we sell to hospitals. Right now, its really complicated and convoluted with one oppty used for both. We have PE so we now have 3 oppty types we could use, thinking of doing a sales oppty, then having an implementation oppty that is generated at the closed won/contract signed stage. Anyone have any best practices they can share with a similar situation? Thanks in advance

Hi- we use sf to help us track professional services (so, not really for sales). We track people's time, the services they are providing, map them out, bill out from sf. Are there many people here who provide professional services, or would that be a different user group?

We did a similar thing, as we also offer time-based professional services. We work in a more project driven structure, so we created Projects as a custom object and allowed SF users to book time and travel expenses on these. Then we also created some reports which show us on a monthly basis which customer has to be billed how much for our services.

As this is a rather generic use case, we created an AppExchange app for this, which is completely free of charge:

Anybody who is interested can just install it. We would love to get some feedback :)
