Hi!

I've created a screen flow for a guest user experience cloud site to collect registrations to a center. It was working fine until I added labels for translation. Now, everytime I test fill it out, it is creating the new visit object with the same contact every single time. Is there something I am missing? Why is it using the same contact?

    @Kundan Kumar Jha thanks. I've checked all of those things and haven't found any issues. Can you expand on #3? That's the only one I'm not sure of. I might rebuild it to see if the issue was with transitioning to the labels.

Is there something on app exchange or something built in for a portal / flow for non-users to sign up to be volunteers and then sign up for shifts on NPC volunteer with person accounts?  So far, I couldn't find anything so I just started building from scratch.  I added the shifts and positions etc., then I created a flow for initial volunteer sign up, then I created a flow for orientation, then I created a flow for Shift Sign-Up.  It took A LOT of work, but I was able to create experience cloud pages for each, create the guest user profile, add permissions to the guest user profile, create a public group to add the staff that work with volunteers, and then I realized you cannot update records with a guest user profile, only create records.  So then I had to create a custom object to create a record with all of the orientation information, change the flow to create those records instead of updating the person account records, and then create a new separate flow to push the data from the custom object into the account object.  I also had issues creating automated emails but I was able to get that figured out by creating templates instead of using the email body within the flow which did not work.  MY PROBLEM IS:  Now that I did all that work, I cannot get the flow that I created to sign up for shifts to work with the experience cloud on an incognito browser with the guest user profile.  I keep getting this error:

An Error Occurred with Your "Volunteer Shift Sign-Up" Flow

You’ve received this email because an error occurred while your "Volunteer Shift Sign-Up" flow was running.

Debug this flow in Flow Builder.

Error element Get_Open_Shifts (FlowRecordLookup).

This error occurred when the flow tried to look up records: SELECT Id, Status FROM JobPositionShift WHERE ((Status ^ ERROR at Row:1:Column:24 sObject type 'JobPositionShift' is not supported. If you are attempting to use a custom object, be sure to append the '__c' after the entity name. Please reference your WSDL or the describe call for the appropriate names.. You can look up ExceptionCode values in the

SOAP API Developer Guide

Here is the current sign-up flow:

Volunteer Portal for Nonprofit Cloud

Please advise.  It seems like all this work should already be done, or there should be a package I can get or something.  If not, maybe I should build a package once I get this done so others don't have to deal with this!  If someone wanted to help me do it and get it published I would give it away for free.  I just don't understand why there isn't a simple way for potential volunteers to sign up to be volunteers, and then sign up for shifts without having to be paid users.  Thank you!

    The error is telling you exactly what's wrong: `JobPositionShift` is not accessible to the Guest User profile. This is a known limitation with NPC objects and guest user context in Experience Cloud.

    Guest users can't query `JobPositionShift` directly via Flow record lookup. You have two options:

    Option A  Run the flow in system context

    In Flow Builder, go to the flow's Start element → set "How to Run the Flow" to System Context with Sharing (not User or Guest context). This lets the flow query NPC objects the guest user doesn't have direct access to. This is the quickest fix.

    Option B  Use an Apex-invocable action

    Create a small Apex class that queries `JobPositionShift` and invoke it from the flow. More work, but gives you finer control.

    Option A is almost certainly your path forward here — try that first before touching anything else.

    One other thing to double-check: make sure the Guest User profile has Read access to any custom objects your flow touches, even when running in system context. The flow context handles the NPC objects, but your custom orientation object still needs explicit guest permissions.

    Hope that unblocks you!

Hi team,

We recently received the Salesforce notification about the retirement of the SOAP API login() method, and we are trying to understand if any users or integrations in our org are still using this type of authentication.

While reviewing LoginHistory, we found some records with:

  • LoginType = "Other Apex API"
  • ApiType = "SOAP Enterprise"

but it is still unclear to us if this really confirms the usage of SOAP login() authentication.

Is there a reliable way to validate whether a specific user or integration is still authenticating through SOAP login() instead of OAuth or Connected Apps?

We would also like to know if LoginHistory is enough for this analysis or if Salesforce recommends using another tool or log source to confirm it.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi @Juan Jose Sierra Ortega

    Here’s a response you can post back to the developer’s question:

    The records you’re seeing in LoginHistory with LoginType = "Other Apex API" and ApiType = "SOAP Enterprise" do indicate that the SOAP API is being used, but they don’t necessarily confirm that the login()

     method itself is being called. The SOAP API can be used for other operations as well, so LoginHistory alone isn’t a definitive way to prove usage of the deprecated login() authentication.

    To reliably check whether integrations are still using SOAP login():

    • Audit your integration code/configurations: Look for explicit calls to login() in any custom integrations, middleware, or legacy scripts.
    • Connected Apps & OAuth: Modern integrations should be registered as Connected Apps and use OAuth flows. If you don’t see a Connected App associated with the integration, that’s a red flag it may still be using SOAP login().
    • Event Monitoring (Login Events): If you have Event Monitoring enabled, the LoginEvent logs provide more granular details about authentication methods used. This is more reliable than LoginHistory for distinguishing SOAP login from OAuth.
    • Disable SOAP login in a sandbox: As a test, you can temporarily disable legacy authentication in a sandbox and see which integrations fail. This helps identify dependencies before production impact.

    Salesforce’s recommendation is to migrate all integrations to OAuth-based authentication via Connected Apps. LoginHistory is useful for spotting API usage patterns, but for precise validation, Event Monitoring and code/config reviews are the best approach.

    If this helps, please mark this as best answer.

    Thanks!

Hi Everyone, I wanted to share quickly that the Chrome Extension I have been building for Flow went live earlier this week. It's called the SF Flow Utility Toolkit, and it includes some well helpful functionality which I am personally very proud of (sorry, I'm admittedly biased on that front). I'd love to hear feedback from the community from anyone who installs it and uses it. There is a Microsoft Edge Add-On version that is still in review, so it's only available in Chrome for now.

If you want to access it on Chrome now, you can find the link to the extension here:

Hi folks! I was hoping to get some advice on a flow I'm building.

I have a group of campaigns indicating participation in different initiatives. When those contacts are added to one of those campaigns, I now need that to trigger an update on the contact's record to append to a multiselect. The name of the Campaign matches the value in the multiselect.

This is what I have so far:

  1. Record Trigger: When a campaign member is created AND the Parent Campaign = Initiative Participants
  2. Get Records: Where the Contact ID equals {!$Record.Contact.Id}
  3. Update Records: Related to the campaign member, selected triggering campaign member contact ID.
    1. Set the field Values to Field: Initiative (this is the multiselect) -< Value: Formula resource
    2. Formula resource: "Get_Related_Contact_s_Existing_Picklist.Initiative__c" & ";" & "$Record.Campaign.Name"

When I attempted to add a new campaign to a contact to test, I got an error: "We can't save this record because the “Initiative Field” process failed. Give your Salesforce admin these details. This error occurred when the flow tried to update records: INVALID_OR_NULL_FOR_RESTRICTED_PICKLIST: Initiative: bad value for restricted picklist field: Get_Related_Contact_s_Existing_Picklist.Initiative__c. You can look up ExceptionCode values in the SOAP API Developer Guide. Error ID: 1353995691-131230 (-38227967)"

Any thoughts? I know the multiselect is going to be a problem, but I am loath to otherwise add a bunch of checkboxes to the record. Thank you!

    @Bethany Shenise

    Ahhh yes, I feared that might happen. Ok here’s the way I’ve had to modify this in the past:

    In an Assignment Flow

    1) create a text variable (in the example pic, v_Comm_Exclue_Text) and assign the current multi-select picklist values to that variable.

    2) using the same variable, ADD your new value, starting with a semi-colon: “;Phone Calls” in the example.

    3) I then have the record’s multi-select picklist field = my text variable. But in your case you can just use the variable in the Update Record element.

    I’ve attached an image, I hope that helps!

    “Which of the following products do you use…” needs to include the Industries (Nonprofit, Education, Consumer Goods, Public Sector, Financial, etc). Automating around and through Person Accounts and the many objects, components, actions is unique and should be considered.

In a newly created sanbox, I want to edit the agent but when I click to enter the agent configuration I get this screen that does not allow me to contuniate, do you have any idea how I can solve it?

If you're new to flows and automation, or know someone who is, checkout our new Get Started with Flows section in Salesforce Help. It was created for beginner flow builders. The most important part is that it addresses how to think like a flow, which is one of the harder things to grasp. Feedback is welcome!

    Hi @Sheree Morris

    ,

    Sorry for the delay, I sent this to my work email so I could get a screenshot and then lost it in the mix.

    Here's what it looks like on our Lightning Page Layouts.

    I dug a bit deeper to find out it's a custom Aura Component Bundle Detail, created by our last Admin. Here's the code for it, I hope this helps!

    <aura:component implements="flexipage:availableForRecordHome,force:hasRecordId">

    <aura:attribute name="message" type="String"/>

    <aura:attribute name="backgroundColour" type="String"/>

    <div style="{! 'background-color:' + v.backgroundColour }">

    <lightning:layoutItem padding="around-small" flexibility="auto">

    <lightning:icon class="warning" iconName="utility:warning" alternativeText="Warning!" variant="warning" size="small"/>

    <lightning:formattedText value="{!v.message}" />
