Update: we had a question from Viralogger who asked:

Is there a comprehensive guide to url hacks?

@Jsun Pe has provided this response:

    "hack"... NEVER!!!!! :P

Jokes aside... this brings up a good point: our customers can try doing things that is not documented in the Salesforce help.... but you need to do so at your own risk, as Salesforce releases may end up making changes to those behaviour as it may not be a use case we track, and this may end up breaking your customisation and causes an availability issue!

My personal advice - whatever your do, document it so that you remember that you did it, double check if it still works after a Major release, and avoid doing it for any design that is used for a critical business operations.
