#Household Accounts4 debatiendo

Considering how long I have been in the ecosystem, I am actually embarrassed to ask this question. (In my defense, it's not something I look at often). Anyway, when adding a spouse/partner to a Household account, via the Manage Household button, I noticed that after adding the person, and then going to their contact record, on the Account related list, it is NOT showing the Household account, it just shows as "0". On the contact record itself, the related Account record is there, it's just not showing up on the Account related list.

Why would that be?

The contacts are not marked as private, I don't have any dup rules that would prevent creation, etc. So I am a bit baffled.

We are using the Household model... I cannot find where to remove affiliated account dropdown from the lead conversion task. I would be fine with making it default to none instead. Thanks for your suggestions.

On the 1:1 model, I can push a HH address to a Contact record one at a time. Is there a way to do this for a group of HH addresses?

We have 18 account records for individuals that have the account record type of Organization rather than our default of Household Account. When we try to change the record type manually on the organization screen, and then save the change on the Household Account screen, the change isn't saved. We're not sure how to address this issue.

    Hi @Betty O'Connor

    ,

Forgive me for asking an obvious question but are you sure you are changing the Account Record Type field? It sounds like you may be changing the Type field on Account which doesn't control the Record Type/Page Layout - as you talk about an "Other" value which appears as a standard value in the Type picklist but isn't a value in Record Type.

Just want to rule that one out!

    Many thanks,

    Duncan

Hello. I centrally manage Salesforce databases for our Affiliates (each has its own org), and there are approximately 40 of them that are still on the 1-to-1 Model. I want to update everyone's databases and convert them to the Household Account Model. Most of these would have years' worth of data and also a large amount of customization (we use a managed package as well). In reading more about the Conversion Tool, I am wondering if doing an org swap for each one would be easier. This would allow for a fresh start and the most complex part would just be importing the previous data. Does anyone have any recommendations on whether an Org Swap would be a better option than the Conversion Tool? Any experience or best practices would be appreciated!

I have done a number of in-place conversions, each was different. Some had data problems like two first names in the first name field. I did the conversion in steps and did every step in a partial copy sandbox first. Hope this helps... Bob
