Hello, fellow Trailblazers. I’m a brand new admin at a nonprofit. We are considering moving from using Classy to Elevate to bring donations into our org. I am looking for anyone who has insight into how well Elevate works, what its pain points are, how difficult it is to implement, and the amount of risk of issues regarding recurring donations. We know if something breaks here, there will be a percentage of recurring donors that we will lose permanently. We definitely want to avoid that! I would appreciate hearing about any experience anyone has on Elevate. Thanks in advance!

I have clients who use Classy and clients who use the free version of Elevate. Both are great. Both integrate with Salesforce with minimal syncing issues. Classy has more capabilities but the cost can be prohibitive for small nonprofits. The free version of Elevate is very effective and integrates nicely with Salesforce as it is a Salesforce product. If you are already using Classy, why not just use the Salesforce-Classy integration. It will bring your Classy opportunities and campaigns directly into Salesforce. It will look for matching contacts and sync to them. If there is no match, new contacts will be created in Salesforce for these new donors. Classy also allows donors to login directly and manage their giving. I don't believe Elevate has this capability which means donors have to call you to manage their giving (ie modify or discontinue a recurring gift).

Whatever you decide, I think you will be pleased with your choice. Two very good products.

Hi all, apologies if this post is a dupe, my first posted went poof. We had our Spring 23 update pushed last night and I noticed earlier today that my embedded donation forms are not loading on our website. However, direct links to the giving pages seem to work fine. Working through troubleshooting and process of elimination before I reach out to Salesforce Support, but thought I'd check in to see if anyone else is having any issues.

@Kevin Toovey, Thanks for bringing this to our attention.  We have resolved the SSL issue and your embedded donations pages should render correctly now.

We’re moving our donor CRM over to Salesforce mid-next year. Elevate and Donorbox have risen to the top as the best platforms to handle donations on our website, as they both integrate well with Salesforce. It’s been challenging to find reviews on Elevate, so I’m coming to you all!

  • What do you like most/dislike about the platform?
  • If you had the chance, would you still choose Elevate?
  • What have been the biggest pain points in setting up or using Elevate?
  • How much time does it take to set up and administer it?

Thank you all for your tips! For reference, we’re a small non-profit with a fundraising budget of ~$500,000, and we currently use WordPress to manage our website and Stripe to process payments.

We are also considering a move to Elevate, though we are moving from Classy. I would love to get some insight into what we are in for as well. @Jillianne Bandstra had four excellent questions:

    • What do you like most/dislike about the platform?
    • If you had the chance, would you still choose Elevate?
    • What have been the biggest pain points in setting up or using Elevate?
    • How much time does it take to set up and administer it?

We will probably have a consultant implement it, so I am wanting to discern how big of a project it will be in order to evaluate whether their quote is reasonable. I would add ONE IMPORTANT QUESTION:

    • Should we anticipate any disruptions in our monthly recurring donations? We need that to go smoothly, as any interruption will likely lead to permanently lost donations.

I so much appreciate any help anyone can provide!

Hi, I am working with a relatively new NPSP org and trying to use the NPSP Data Importer tool to bring in Contacts, Accounts, Donations and Campaign info using an older version of the template. However, per this post -> https://trailhead.salesforce.com/trailblazer-community/feed/0D54S00000Eo8VaSAJ the older templates should still work.

The weirdness:

1. When I use the full older template (see attached as ImportFailure.csv) key fields like Payment Method, Contact 1 Work Email, Account1 City and Alternate Emails (among others) don't even make it into the NPSP Data Import object.

2. When I remove the last two columns with notification data (see attached as ImportNarrow.csv), some of the fields above magically start coming in OK even though they have the exact same values. Only difference between the two files is the last two columns.

3. You can see that the Data Import tool (see mappingOK.png) recognizes the values in the Contact1 Email columns so the data is readable and not borked in any obvious way.

4. importfailure.png shows attempting to import the ImportFailure.csv. Fields highlighted in green failed to import.

5. importnarrow.png shows attempting to import the ImportNarrow.csv file. More fields (but not all) now make it into the NPSP Data Import object. Some fields still fail though.

6. I've opened the CSVs in Notepad and there are no obvious issues. I also tried importing with different character sets but to no avail.

I already checked permissions and have confirmed that I have full access to the NPSP Data Import object (all fields and View/Modify All records). I've also assigned the appropriate Perm Set "NPSP Data Import" but permissions can't be the issue because the same user (me) is able to import the troublesome fields from Narrow but not from Failure.

And just because I don't have enough gray hair, I don't encounter the same issue in another NPSP org for a different client. The NPSP Data Import object is the same but the org having the weirdness has Elevate installed and connected (Power of Us edition) and the org where the import works just fine does not have Elevate installed.

The only thing I can think of is some trigger related to Elevate since Elevate uses the NPSP Data Import object but why it would fail with extra columns on the end but work when those last few columns are removed has me saying "What the F(orce.com) is going on?!"

All help much appreciate, thanks in advance.

Hi @David Smith So both orgs had the same mapped fields and field values? That would be strange but I must admit I am not close to the Wizard issue - I only know of it. From an import perspective there may be no difference between an Elevate NPSP org vs a non-Elevate NPSP org - except possibly that FLS is enabled for the Elevate fields on NPSP Data Import in the Elevate org but not in the non-Elevate org.

On the old template, I think it is fine to still use it but the issue will occur if you map too many fields that contain data. Adding @Sam Knox for thoughts on adding a note to the post

Hi all! I'm setting up a newer nonprofit org and trying to integrate Elevate. I followed all the steps provided (https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sfdo.EL_NPSP_Prerequisites.htm&type=5) and am still getting the attached errors. The president of the nonprofit originally set things up so I'm kind of going backwards to make sure everything is good. The integration user has all the correct permission sets so I'm kind of at a loss for what's wrong. My next step would be to delete the integration user and start from scratch...has anyone else worked through these issues? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! #Elevate

Just in case anyone else has this issue, simply disconnect your org from elevate and reconnect, and this should solve the issue. Salesforce support gave me this solution.
