I'm working on completing my Sales Cloud Admin Certification Maintenance (https://trailhead.salesforce.com/en/content/learn/modules/administrator-certification-maintenance-spring-21/maintain-your-administrator-certification-for-spring21?trail_id=maintain-your-salesforce-certifications) and in the exercise instructions I'm to create a new custom object from a spreadsheet. I go to my Trailhead Sales Cloud playground Settings > Object Manager > Create Custom Object from Spreadsheet and it opens a new window at https://object-creator.salesforce.com/ and asks me to login. I use my SSO credentials to login to the Sandbox option then I just get a screen that says "It’s better in Lightning" with no way to move forward.
Anyone have any idea how to get this object-creator to work so I can complete this certificaiton exercise?
This module has bugs, which I am assuming will be resolved within the next 12 months (April 12, 2022 due date).
However, for those who want to get this completed and out of the way, here are the steps for resolution based on the issues I ran into:
-Make sure you are logged out of any legitimate Salesforce instances (ideally quit and relaunch fresh Chrome or go incognito).
-Create new Trailhead Playground instance and then launch it (click Launch once it is created)
-Once you are logged into the Playground instance, you need to click "Get Your Login Credentials" at the top of the screen
-This will provide you with your Trailhead Playground Username:
-Then you need to click the "Reset My Password" button, which will send a password reset link to your email that you use for Trailhead
-Follow the instructions via the link that is emailed to reset the password for the Playground instance (you need it for the next step)
-When you go to install the "Object Creator" package (Create Custom Object from Spreadsheet), it will launch in a separate window and will prompt you to either Log in to Salesforce or Log in to Sandbox (https://object-creator.salesforce.com/)
*** This should automatically authenticate to the current Playground instance you are logged into (it currently doesn't)-At this screen you will want to click select Log in with Salesorce but then you need to input the TRAILHEAD PLAYGROUND Log In Credentials! (do not use your company production username/password or login via corporate SSO).
-Click Accept and it will install within the Playground instance you created to complete this module.
-Follow the rest of the instructions in module verbatim and you will successfully pass the hands on challenge!
