Lightning For Outlook: User is able to attach an email, from Lightning For Outlook panel, on an Account but user cannot attach the email on another Account.

Considering that user has read/write sharing on both Accounts, which could be the issue?

What could prevent to attach an email on Account activity even if user have got read write access?

Salesforce for Outlook will be retired in December 2020 when Lightning Experience ends extended support for Microsoft Internet Explorer 11.

Does it apply to Lightning for Outlook?

Hi @* Customer Architect Community * / @Salesforce.org Customer Success

We are trying to integrate Outlook & Gmail Account with Salesforce Lightning for Outlook & Lightning for Gmail option. But not sure, will Salesforce allow 2 different mail server integration to one Salesforce instance.

If anyone guide us or confirm us, whether is it possible in Salesforce?

One Salesforce Org integrated with Outlook & Gmail simultaneously  and can leverage Lightning Sync feature as well without any problem or limitation.

Your help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks

We can have only one type of active Lightning Sync connection in an Org, at a given time.

Hi everyone:

Given that the "Salesforce for Outlook" integration is being discontinued December 2020, I am trying to start my Sales Reps on the new Outlook Integration (or Lightning Sync; I'm not entirely clear on the differences yet).

However, this does not seem to work if our company domain is not hosted on Office 365, or if our Sales Reps want to use the Desktop Outlook app, does it?

Please let me know how your companies are dealing with this; I greatly appreciate and look forward to your insights.

Thank you in advance!

We are on office 365. We use the desktop app. You just have to download the side panel from the MS app store, or work through your MS Office Admin.

Outlook integration is the email side of the integration. Lightning sync falls more on the event/contact sync side. Contact sync was a nightmare in testing, and my research showed that most people avoid it due to some odd temperamental behaviors.

My biggest suggestion would be to roll it out to a small group, and then add users incrementally, don't do it all at once, as we've now been dealing with issues for 3 months now periodically that all come back to lightning sync.

Hi all,

I have Email enhancement and Salesforce for Outlook enabled.

Unfortunately, I made a mistake to relate a mail to opportunity.

Now I'm unable to correct that and relate the mail to the correct opportunity.

Someone can help me?

tks

    Tks Anthony,

I was looking for a solution in Salesforce (maybe changing some related list on the EmailMessage Object), but the solution was in the Outlook side panel.

    Tks a lot

Our users have what I thought was a fairly simple request when working with Lightning for Outlook, they want to relate an email message to both a Lead and a Campaign. Since the Activity/Task record can relate to both a WhoId and WhatId, I figured this wouldn't be a problem.  However, I've witnessed and recorded a user experience the following behavior in the Add-in and I cannot figure out what is causing it.

https://www.screencast.com/t/BdiMY0ddBQI

As you can see, each time she tries to associate the message with the lead it disconnects the campaign.  (This does not seem to be the case for Contacts but both Leads and Contacts can be associated with SF Campaigns.)  And each time she clicks the campaign it disconnects it from the lead.  I also had her try to remove herself from the association and just try the lead and campaign but the experience was the same.  Shouldn't an activity be able to be associated with a WhoID (the Lead) and a WhatID (the Campaign) at the same time?  FWIW, we're using the Modern Email object for storing email messages.

Secondly, while this may be related, they also see the following error on occasion.

"You can't send an email to a lead when there's a value in the Related To field. Remove the lead or the Related To entry."

https://www.screencast.com/t/BrkkaWWGapfu

I've tried searching for this error (both in a couple of search browsers and in this Community) but only found these two articles but neither has responses as to what to do about it.

Thanks in advance for any clarification or help you can provide on these things.

I'm wondering if it is possible to have Lightning for Outlook work with general support emails in addition to user emails? I would greatly appreciate any insight into this process, if it is possible.

Thanks!
