An unexpected error occurred while inserting Opportunity records and we couldn't check your work. Make sure Opportunity records can be inserted in this org, and click "Check Challenge" again. If this continues, contact the Trailhead Help team.

This Trailhead error usually means Salesforce is unable to insert the required Opportunity records because of an org configuration, permission, validation, or automation issue. 

First, check that your user has Create permission for the Opportunity object under Setup → Object Manager → Opportunity → Object Permissions. Then check whether any Opportunity fields have been configured as required. 

Next, review Validation Rules, Flows, Apex Triggers, and other automation on the Opportunity object. Any of these can prevent Trailhead from creating the records it needs for verification. 

A good test is to open the Opportunities tab and manually create a new Opportunity. If you cannot save it successfully, fix that issue first. Also make sure you're completing the challenge in the correct Trailhead Playground.
