#Bulk Import0 discutindo

So, I have a CSV file with Contact Names and contact data which is identical to what is in Salesforce.  (So, the Contacts already live in SFDC).  But, there is no ContactID in the CSV file.  Is there any way to match these up so I can then import them into a campaign?  Trying to import with Contact Names just creates duplicates.

Thanks for any help!

Hey David,  How are you attempting to add the Contacts to the Campaign? Are you using Dataloader? If so, you'll have to have the Contact IDs. (See this article)  However, you may be able to get the contact IDs if you build a report in SFDC that has columns for Contact ID, Contact First Name, Last Name, and whatever other data points you have in your original CSV (hopefully Phone or Email are included). Then, in Excel, use a CONCATENATE formula to bunch those data points together, and a VLOOKUP to find matches to your original CSV data (where you also applied a CONCATENATE function).  Then you'll have IDs matched to names on your original file and can upload via dataloader.

I learned the limit is 200, but when inserting newly created records, it can sometimes reach 300+... Im trying to set up a flow where a chatter post is sent out after ALL of the records for this one object is created.

Is this possible?

Thanks!

    @Genesis Tifa-Tejada,

I was originally talking about just marking that on the data when you are inserting it (this would be completely manual). I am realizing now though that you said all the incoming insertions are related to the same project right? I'm not sure if you would run into an order of operations issue but you could also do one of the following two things:

    1. In batch one, after the chatter post goes out, set a field on the project level that says 'email_sent__c' or something. Then, in batch two, you'll know not to send a duplicate post

    2. If you are using the Create Records element and not the post to chatter action, you might be able to query to see if there is already an inserted chatter post tied to that Project record, but again I'm not sure if the order of operations is in your favor (your second batch of insertions might be running before your post record in query-able)

Hello,

I am using the data import wizard to mass upload a number of new contacts. The uploads are successful, however the Contact Record Type is not the right one. When completing the Wizard, the record type dropdown list only displays our Account Record Types and not our Contact Record Types.

I've tried adding another field to my CSV. file called Contact Record Type and have populated this with 'Friends of Contacts' (our record type name) but the newly imported contacts all come up as the 'VCSE Members' record type.

We do not have an Account Record Type specifically related to the 'Friends of Contacts' Contact Record Type - could this be the reason why?

    Hey @Claire Smith,

even I do not use data import wizard (I used it only with trailheads - I recommend starting using data loader or something similar), but for on this first Data Import Wizard Page you are selecting Account RT. If you click next, then you can edit mapping, find your column where you have stored Contact Record Type (I believe you need to have Id of that record type, not Name. ow to find Id? Object Manager > Contact > Record Types > Click on needed RT > ID is in URL of your browser...) and click Change/Map an from Select field find Contact: Contact Record Type

I hope this will work for you ;)

    Cheers

@Archana Panda I read another link and I understood that if the owner id is not there in the CSV, the owner id will be set to the id of the logged-in user even if it is an update operation. But that seems stupid to me. Why would SF implement it like that?

Does anyone know when you bulk import keywords into Pardot if you can add a tag to all the keywords imported? I know you can tag a keyword when you add it individually, but I don't see this option when trying to bulk import. Thanks!

Hello, we are implementing Salesforce and Service LEX Console and had enabled Knowledge Lightning in our Org. I need to import around 400 articles which content is mostly PDFs and PPT files. In this link i found the procedure with the steps to import articles (basic fields) from a CSV file https://resources.docs.salesforce.com/198/0/en-us/sfdc/pdf/salesforce_knowledge_import_cheatsheet.pdf  but i'm not able to import the attachments related to each article. I had  tried to do it using data loader to import those files to the object "Attachment" but when i specify the field PARENT_ID = {ID Knowledge Article} i get an error that indicates the PARENT_ID is not correct.  Can anybody help me with this? I hope that do it manually is not the only option!. Thanks! #Knowledge Articles #Bulk Import #Lightning Knowledge

I am having trouble linking my users (sales team) to their prospects. I have done a bulk import, followed all the required fields of data, and for some reason it still isn't syncing. Did I miss a step? I can assign them individually, but would rather not go through 5000 + prospects manually :) -(sorry if there is a thread on this already, couldn't find it)

Thank you!

So if some of the prospects are connecting that means things are fine.

It sounds like you did your Prospect import first, and then your User Import later.

You can either leave things alone, and as Prospect records have activity they will sync themselves. This requires that something triggers an update to the 'Last Modified Date' and could take a long time.

Or you can trigger a full sync. That will make Pardot sync with Salesforce in the next hour or so (depending on your database size).

And the easiest way to trigger a full sync is to import your Prospects in Pardot (again).

You just take a CSV of your prospects, and do the import again. You don't even need to 'do' anything with them - don't update any fields, add them to a list, nothing. During step 4 of the import wizard just select the radio button that says 'Import Prospects.'

The act of importing will queue them up to sync with Salesforce.
