    @Aiswariya Devi, please instead, go to the product record you want to add, then click on the pricebook related list, click add standard price, and mention a price when asked, please instead, go to the product record you want to add, then click on the pricebook related list, click add standard price, and mention a price when askedhttps://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.insurance_add_a_price_book_entry_606216.htm&type=5

I am trying to use a data plan file to insert the following objects:

* ProductBook2

* Product2

* PricebookEntry

I've created some data and I'm ready to insert, however, I'm getting errors relating to

STANDARD_PRICE_NOT_DEFINED  No standard price defined for this product

This makes sense I didn't insert it into the standard pricebook, but then I was thinking... well how can I do that with the DX data import?

Thanks in advance!

How do I add a standard price to a product in Lightning? Ultimately, I just want to associate products with my opportunities.

From what I've gathered, you need to create a product then add it to the standard price book to get the option to add a price...but I need to add the standard price before I can add my product to the standard price book (or any other). The trailhead module was not helpful as it assumed previous entry of new products with prices and is dated 2017 with changes to standard price options impacting later versions of Salesforce Lightning.

Looking at the DF15 website, it says ...

"t’s just $1,299 until May 26. That's $700 savings."

I thought the standard price was $1299 last year. Are they really hiking the price by 700? That's more than a 50% increase.

Looking for some Price Book help. I am trying get Price Book up and running in our multi-currency org. I understand that I need to enter a price for each currency in the Standard Price book but I'm planning to create a Price Book based on each country as we have numerous regional products in addition to our standard products as well as have to address a price index calculation for each country. When entering the standard price, should I be entering the indexed price or should I simply be entering whatever the contracted price is in that currency(widget x costs $1 so then it would be 8.57kr? Also, when creating the individual price books, how do I insure that only the price for that country shows up (USD for the US, Krona for Sweden, etc) or would that be dictated by the currency chosen for the particular customer/opp?

    I would agree with @Scott Hodgman

    regarding the standard price would typically be non-indexed.

    I have customers with a similar setup as what you've described. They have pricebooks setup for each "currency" as well. You don't have to do it that way but ot does work and can make it more of a conscious choice when the sales rep selecta the currency. Their foreign pricing model isn't based sorely on the conversion rate. The cost of business is greater for them in foreign counties so they adjust their foreign pricing up accordingly. The conversion rates then are only leveraged in reports to convert the foreign currencies to the users default currency.

We have a two part ShellBlack Whiteboard episode on Products. This first segment covers what is a Product, how Products impacts the Opportunity Amount field, the standard fields that are available, possible custom fields, as well as the concept of Standard Price. I then explain the concept of a Pricebook. I've seen a lot of confusion with my clients on this topic, so I created an in-depth example using four Pricebooks to show how they can segment your product catalog and set pricing for those subsets.

    @Shell Black I so love how you make any topic clear, accessible, and so easy to understand. Any chance for a ShellBlack Whiteboard episode on Products/Price Books with multiple currancies/FX? ;-)
