Hi everyone,
I’m using Tableau Desktop Public Edition 2026.2.2 on Windows and I’m trying to publish a completed dashboard to Tableau Public.
The problem is:
- Under Server, I only see Run Optimizer
- I do not see Tableau Public → Save to Tableau Public
- The shortcut Ctrl + Shift + S also does nothing
- Help → About Tableau Public confirms I’m on Public Edition 2026.2.2
- I also encountered this error earlier when trying to publish: “Unexpected error: TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'apply')”
The workbook itself opens and works normally, and I can save it locally. I’ve also tried restarting Tableau and signing into Tableau Public in the browser.
Has anyone seen this in Public Edition 2026.2.2? Is there another way to trigger publishing, or is this a known bug with the current build?

I haven’t run into this exact issue, but it sounds like the publishing option isn’t loading properly in the Public Edition. Since the workbook works normally and the error appeared during publishing, it could be related to the current build. Hopefully someone from Tableau can confirm whether this is a known issue.
