I'm using the Magic Mover app to convert attachments to files. The process has been successful for all objects except one. I've tried selecting a few and even just one of the files but nothing seems to work. Any reason why this would work for all objects except one? Are there other ways to convert attachments to files?

For context the object is part of the Homekeeper App.

Hi! I am new to this group! Currently working on migrating our company's old org to Lightning. Is there a great overview or info video for end users to get them excited on what Lightning for Sales can do better? I got some from salesforce's youtube channel but wondering if someone has other recommendations. #LightningExperienceTransition

I need a report of Top 10 Donors in the prior fiscal year. I'm looking for a solution within the report rather than using excel. I found an Idea to bring a row count filter from Classic to Lightning but I need to get this report asap. Anyone found a solution for this?

This is the sort of thing I put on a dashboard which allows me to show only a subset of results. Not the exact answer to your question, it works for us because typically there are other requests around the report. Such as I'd like to see the top 10 donors last year, this year, and two years ago. Can you also show me where they're located (state) and . . . and . . . So at that point I put all the high-level info into a dashboard and set up a subscription for the people who need the data.

I switched from Lightning to Classic to merge accounts. I have two duplicate accounts that both contain donations. During Step 2, I select the values to retain, including total number of gifts and I want to ensure SF will retain this data from both accounts. One account says total gifts of 13 and the other says total gifts of 19 and I have to choose which account's info to retain. When I merge, will Salesforce combine these and update the new total to be 32?

I believe the answer is yes. Note that NPSP row update I will not be updated until the batch processes run, typically in the middle of the night..

Hi, we still have the NPSP v2 installed in our org and we are planning the transtion to lightning.

The "convert" Lead button is overriden by a VF page that is not available to be used in Lightning.

As I cannot edit the page and check the checkbox "Available for LIghtning Experience", I'm wondering if we need to upgarde to NPSP v3 before transitioning to Lightning. Can you please help?

    Hi @Simona Foschi

I don't think that there's any blocker in transitioning to Lightning before upgrading.

As you mentioned that you have a custom VF page for Lead convert, Visualforce pages must be enabled for mobile use before they can display in these areas of the Salesforce user interface:

    • The navigation menu, via a Visualforce tab
    • The action bar, via a custom action
    • Mobile cards on a record’s related information page
    • Overridden standard buttons, or custom buttons and links
    • Embedded in record detail page layouts
    • Lightning pages
    1. To enable a Visualforce page:
    2. From Setup, enter Visualforce Pages in the Quick Find box, then select Visualforce Pages.
    3. Click Edit for the desired Visualforce page.
    4. Select Available for Lightning Experience, Lightning Communities, and the mobile app then click Save.

Here's a Trailhead Badge on using VF in Lightning

Our previous admin used Magic Mover (or some other tool) to move over the old Notes & Attachments to the new Notes and Files object. However, we've since discovered that not all Notes (and possibly some attachments as well), were moved over. What can we do and what tools should we use to identify which records weren't moved over and then move them over now?

Now we have moved to Lightning we occasionally see that the full name of the Contact , e.g. John Smith, appearing at the top of the page reads instead 'Smith Household'. Nothing else appears to be wrong just this. Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks Eva. I had thought it was something more complicated as it seemed to switch back at one point. Anyway that seems to have solved it for now!

Hi,

We've updated the environment from classic to Lightning.

And since then we keep getting errors on a Batch Apex, see below. Can you help us out on how to get this fixed?

Hi James, We'll have a look to see if we can get it fixed this way. If not I'll reach out again. thanks for now.

I just started working with a non-profit and I'm fairly new to the Salesforce world. All the training I've had thus far is in Lightning but this org still has classic. However, I'm a little confused because when I login, it says they have the "Nonprofit Starter Pack" not the "Nonprofit Success Pack." I went into Settings > Installed Packages and found that the versions for "Households" and "Contacts and Organizations" is 3.12 and 3.14. Which according to Salesforce is the most up to date version. The "Nonprofit Success Pack" is also listed under Installed Packages and is version number 3.18.

My question is, under the current configs that the org has, how do I even start the process to transition to Lightning? And is it even possible if we don't actually have the most up to date version of the Nonprofit Success Pack?

We use the Lead Source field on both our Contact pages and on Opportunities, but to capture different information. I have made certain picklist values available for the Lead Source field on our Contact Record type that are not available on any of the Opportunity record types. Since we made the switch to Lightning, every time we create a new opportunity (using the 'New' button on the opportunities related list on a contact page) the lead source value from the related contact auto-populates into the opportunity, even when that value has not been made available on that opportunity record type. Note that Lead Source is a required field on our Contact pages, but not on Opportunities, where it is often intentionally left blank.

This created some errors for us before we realized that it was happening.

How do I stop the Lead Source field on opportunities from being auto-populated?

Lead Source is a required field on all Contact pages but not on opportunities.
