I completed a batch upload today to apply Engagement Plans to a number of Account records. Upon doing so I realized the dates were not correct based on the dependent task settings within the engagement plan template (ex: first task should be 20 days from today, and next task should be 30 days out - but after upload the first task may be right but then the second/dependent task is over 100 days later). My hunch was that the batch upload confused the dependencies, so after cleaning out the other data I completed the upload again with a batch size of 1. That resolved the issue but this feels like a bug that may need resolution?

I am looking to use engagement plans for non fundraising engagementand. I would like to use levels and set them to intervals of engagement. First time engagement, 5th engagement, etc.
We are connecting to a custom object. Is it possible to do this in npsp?
30 apr 2025, 03:44 @megan moorehead the link to "
does not seem to be working. I have the same desire.
Below is the error that I get when I have a custom lookup field related to User on Engagement Plan object.
npsp.TDTM_EngagementPlan: execution of AfterInsert caused by: System.QueryException: No such column '' on entity 'User'. If you are attempting to use a custom field, be sure to append the '__c' after the custom field name. Please reference your WSDL or the describe call for the appropriate names. (System Code
7 apr 2023, 05:38 It appears that the error is caused by a custom lookup field to User on the Engagement Plan object. The error message indicates that the system is unable to find the specified column on the User object.
It is possible that the field name is incorrect, or that the field has been deleted or renamed. Double-check that the field name is correct and that the field exists on the User object.
Another possibility is that the field level security for the custom lookup field is not set correctly. Ensure that the field is visible and accessible to the relevant profiles and permission sets.
If the above suggestions do not resolve the issue, it is recommended to reach out to the NPSP support team for further assistance. They can review the debug logs and provide more specific guidance on how to resolve the issue.
How can I make the engagement plan tasks show up in the activity timeline? Right now they live as Tasks under the EP's as a related list but I would like to have the editing and sorting options that we have in a lightning activity timeline. #Nonprofit #Tasks #Engagement Plans #Salesforce Admin #Activity Timeline #Activities
10 feb 2022, 22:45 @Julia Edwards They will appear in the related records' activity timeline. Not in the Engagement plan timeline. Enable the activity timeline in the contact, account, custom object record to see all the tasks in the timeline.

29 dic 2021, 21:47 Hi @Terry Cole - i find myself in the same situation. How did you come by the knowledge that mobile doesn't show the desktop custom list views on a tasks? Wondering if you had found a solution and/or how is your workaround working for your org? Thanks, Vicki
I know this has been discussed before specifically in regards to NPSP's Engagement Plan, but wondering if anyone has a solution they like for "Engagement Plans" in EDA. Working with a customer who could benefit from this and as of now we think we will need to go custom/hybrid open-source, so I thought I'd ask the community!
It would be great if we had engagement plans in EDA!
#sprintidea1 dic 2021, 15:59 If they are using the student success hub, you could use Success Plans.

We are setting up engagement plans for our organization and I'm looking for examples of different fields you use to qualify who gets assigned to what engagement plan AND how you numerate those fields. We were brainstorming using the following fields:
Gifts in last N days
Total household gifts
# of years of giving
engagement with organization level
We assigned each of these items a different number value (for example gifts in last days over $10,000 get a points value of 40.) Then we will use a formula to come up with a total. Then use the total points to assign the household to a specific engagement plan.
I'm wondering what fields people use and if they have a points value system they use. We're having trouble figuring out what the correct weight system would be for each category. For example, we don't feel engagement should be weighted as much as last gift in n days, but how do we numerate that?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! TIA.

Hi,
An Engagement plan can be triggered automatically when moving from one level to a higher level (night recalculation). For example from Bronze to Silver. Which can add a series of tasks like an email, a call, etc.
If the donor become more important, and move to Gold (3 months later), a new engagement plan will also be triggered, and other tasks will be added to the Gold donors manager. Nice !
But if, the following year, the donor decreases his donations, and the night calculation brings him back down to SILVER, how can we avoid the "Silver" Engagement plan (which he already had when he reached this level the first time) to be re-triggered?
