Hi there! Does anyone know of a comprehensive chart that describes the similarities and differences between salesforce Inbox and standard Einstein activity capture? Technical details are preferred, but I’ll take anything to start. Thank you in advance!

These are 2 quite different products in how they are deployed.

    Inbox

Optional email tracking, with availability insertion

    Inbox , now called

Sales Cloud everywhere, is used and configured by the end user, adding various capabilities the user can use when they compose emails. help file

There is also a side window on the email screen with a glimpse into the salesforce record from CRM

    Einstein Activity Capture

Automatic email tracking and contact sync, configured at the server/setup menu, and opted into by each user (I believe). All email sent to and from the user's email account will automatically be logged in salesforce, and contacts and events can be auto synced.

The two product overlap in that both enable logging of emails... but I think that is it. Does anyone disagree?

These can be used together, in which case the user does not need to log the emails, but still might want to use the features of inbox like the CRM record preview, or the ability to insert calendar availability times into an email, to facilitate the recipient grabbing a time that works for both parties.

Hi Everyone! Is there a way to build a report to see how many users have chosen to share versus those that haven't on this setting? https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=000390499&type=1

We have 360 Activities reporting enabled with Sales Cloud Einstein / Einstien Activity Capture. We also have email relay on with G-Suite. When a user sends a list email, that creates a list email/unified task AS WELL AS logs the email from their gmail account.

1) This effectively double-logs the list email on Unified Activities reports

2) I cannot figure out how to discern a list email in any Unified Activities/Unified Email reporting at all. All emails show simply as an email out, ie, a "From" email in a Users with Unified Activities report, the same as if the user sent the email conventionally.

How can I report on list emails sent using standard SF reporting?

Has anyone had this issue before? My addresses are changing through some auto process or trigger. It's also using one of my user's accounts and she did not do any of this, nor was she on salesforce at this time of day. It's also using other accounts in other scenarios. From what I can find, I have turned off all processes that involve address updates.

I have spent a long time trying to figure this out. Salesforce Support says it is past their scope because we use other integrations that could be causing the issue.

From observation, it appears that the entire address is being mapped into the mailing street. Then another auto process is trying to fix it, then it's triggering the first process again.

Here is one specific contact example:SOLVED: Address Auto Update IssueScreenshot 2024-01-24 at 10.18.10 AM.png

Here is another example that is similar but different. I have cleared this person's address to blank at least 5 times because she no longer lives here and we do not have her new address. It's like the address is being stored somewhere else and then the automated process is feeding it back in somehow? I have tried clearing from the contact level, the household level, and even completely deleting the related address in the contact. Still every time it is coming back.

I deleted the entered excluded internal domain and reset EAC but emails still aren't showing in activity timeline. How do I get these back? Also, is anybody having issues with analytics not tracking all emails? #EAC #Einstein Activities Capture

@Andrew Russo Ended up deleting the permission set for Inbox with EAC for all affected users, then adding them back and reconfiguring and it worked

We use EAC and Outlook.  Emails are syncing.  Most meetings are syncing, but we are experiencing sporadic sync failures and delays, not isolated to a specific user.

Our meetings always are created in Outlook (365) and always include at least 2 SFDC users from the sales team (the organizer + 1) and at least 1 SFDC contact.  Here are the sporadic failures:

  • The meeting does not sync to the Salesforce record for more than 1 hour.
  • The meeting never syncs to Salesforce.
  • The meeting shows on the Salesforce record as an email, not an event.

From what I have gathered so far, it is impacting 5 different users for about 10% of the meetings they create.  Has anyone experienced this and have a fix?

I have gone through my EAC config and settings and verified everything with Salesforce Help.  none of the users are new, and no settings have been changed on our Salesforce side.  It has been happening since August, so not related to the last Salesforce release.

I have EAC activated. If I create a Google calendar event the meeting appears as an Activity record on the Contact record but it doesn't appear on any Opportunity the Contact is on as Contact Role and/or the Primary Contact. What syncs a Google calendar event to an Opportunity?

    @Kana Reed

Check the status of the following setting in your Einstein activity capture :

" Only Show Events that are Salesforce records "

If this settings is enabled (or) toggled on events will be automatically to the activity timeline of related account, contact, and leads records. [ Not opportunity ]

If this setting is disabled (or) toggled off the events get added automatically to the activity timeline of related account, contact, and leads records and additional records like opportunities, contracts, and quotes.

If you are not able to see this setting in your Einstein activity capture, Then it's toggled on by default which is why the events are not getting related to opportunities

Refer to this Salesforce article :

We use Inbox and Einstein Activity Capture.  We are seeing an issue where the activity is logged in the lead record but is not showing up in the List View.  All evidence appears to be pointing to an issue with this specific lead record but I am unsure how to triage.

TIA!

I understand the task not showing since it's still open.  It's the email that concerns me. As you can see from the screenshot this same user had other emails log in the activity history from that same day which leads me to believe that there is something wonky with this particular lead record.
