Salesforce package in use - Education Cloud    Full error message:

#Higher Education #HEDA Objects #EDA  We are essentially trying to delete the Account records using Workbench/Data Loader , but we are repeatedly getting the above mentioned error. From the ERD diagram for EDA, we can see the Account is master to Course & Course is master to Course Offering via Master-Detail relationships. But the Course Connection has no Master-Detail relationship with Course offering or Account, although it has a lookup to the Course Offering.  How is that then that upon deletion of the Account record, cascade delete reaching to the Course Connection object record & how do I handle this error?

    Hello-

    I am trying to delete a List in salesforce.  I removed all the List members and I still get the cascade deleting too many records.  I tried the Data Loader and reduced the batch size to 1.  I still received the error.  Not sure what to try next

I thought this would be rather easy but I am having a difficult time with a solution for this.

I want to have a field on the Program Enrollment that calculates total credits earned via course connections. I know there is already a managed field for "credits earned" but it is simply a number field I can place edit manually.

I cannot do a Roll-Up Summary because there is no master-detail relationship and I cannot edit those because everything is managed.

Has anyone found a solution to showing total credits earned at a glance? #EDA

    We use @Rollup Helper for all of our rollups. It's a paid product so might not be an option right now, but something to consider long term and IMO an easier learning curve that DLRS. But I would also say that DLRS is also pretty easy to learn and has a good amount of users that you can tap into if you get stuck. If you have already ventured into the world of building screen Flow, you'd probably be able to get DLRS set up more quickly than you think.

     The Admin Team has a blog on using Flow for rollups: https://admin.salesforce.com/blog/2019/use-flow-builder-to-create-a-roll-up-summary-field

Hello all,

We updated to Winter 22 a few weeks ago and discovered that the Schedule Appointment button that exists on a User Profile Page for an adviser (support staff) now only appears for a student when that adviser or staff member is explicitly assigned to the student's Success Team (as a part of a Predefined Case Team or as an individual), and not for advisers who are within Support Pools that a student has access to (e.g. under the "Teams" tab in the new appointment scheduler).

Is this expected behavior? Has anyone found a resolution for getting this button to appear on all user profile pages when the adviser has availability? We find that this is a common way for students to book with advisers as the direct link to an adviser's user profile page can easily be shared students via an email signature or on a website. We'd like to avoid assigning all Support Pools to an advisee's Success Team because it clutters up that page and results in a less-than-ideal user experience.

    Hi @Jamie Marlin! Yes - this is expected behavior. They must also have availability. Feel free to submit an Idea in the IdeaExchange if you'd like to champion the ability for Students to schedule appointments with users who are not assigned to their Success Team.

I cant send emails only .from some users, for example when i try to send a email when  some users  from Lead I get the following error:

  "INSUFFICIENT_ACCESS: insufficient access rights on cross-reference id: 0054x000003n1hg"

With other users I send the email properly

What is the problem for these users?

    Hi

    The inside just shows a call to an email alert.

    The user can see this record.

    I checked permissions and they have Modify all and access to all the fields.

    The flow is activated with a button click on the Course Offering.

    It loops through all the Student Enrollments for that Course Offering and sends a text/SMS and email reminder to each student. The texts are working fine but the error is on the the email.

We discovered this week that all of the Student Success Hub components - SSH Settings, Availability Manager, Appointment Scheduler, Scheduling Wizard, etc - are not appearing for any of our users including System Administrators in any sandbox. So far our Production environment continues to work as expected, but we are concerned this may not remain the case.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? #EDA #Student Success Hub

Any suggestions on how to empower Admissions Counselors to send personalized emails?

We are currently using Salesforce Marketing Cloud with EDA. We have a pretty robust communications plan from our central admissions marketing team, however, our admissions counselors like to send "personalized" follow-up emails. We do some personalized email out of SFMC, however, it isn't scalable for every communications they want to send.

Currently the ACs will run a report, export it and use Microsoft Word Mail Merge to send the email out of Outlook. This seems like such a clunky process. The reports can be between 300 - 5,000 contacts, and from my understanding SF orgs have a daily email limit. They mostly are pulling things like "all contacts a X high school" or all contacts owned that are admitted etc. And they send these a few times a month (but we have 15+ counselors), so my team can't program all of these out of SFMC.

Is there an out of the box solution we are missing from SF or has anybody implemented any 3rd party tools that do this well for a reasonable price? The other concern is keeping opt-outs honored across all systems.

    @Evan Thrailkill

    Based on my experience in implementing marketing cloud for admissions, here are some option which you guys can leverage.

    1. Create a report in salesforce for the criteria your admission team wants to pull the students from.

    2. Pull that data into a data extension and create a journey with different email templates leveraging the admission counselor information.

    3. Now you might have to pull different data from salesforce like user for admission, contacts for students, and a templated email to make this happen.

    4. The journey can run at regular intervals and send emails on a regular basis.

    5. You can also report on them with click-throughs, opens if your salesforce is connected to the marketing cloud as well.

    Questions for you.

    1. Do you have journeys available in your marketing cloud instance?

    2. What is the average volume of students your admission counselors will send emails to?

    3. I am also assuming that the word template currently used is the same template used by all admission folks. Is that right?

    Happy to have a call if needed to share best practices.

Hello Trailblazers!

I'm looking for advice on how to handle something in an org using EDA. I am trying to create a process in Process Builder that evaluates certain field values on a contact record. If certain criteria are met on the contact record, I also need to check a custom field on an unrelated course offering record to see if a certain course has capacity. If there's capacity in the course offering, I need to create a program enrollment with a special status. In process builder, I know how to check the fields on the contact record, and I can create the program enrollment, but the piece I'm having a hard time with is how to check an unrelated course offering's capacity. Any advice would be hugely appreciated!

    Thanks, all, for the advice. I was able to figure out a way to get to the information I needed by adding a lookup field to the term for the course offering. The PB is functioning as desired now.

I am trying to create a package version using Salesforce DX for an unlocked package that includes EDA 1.103 as a package dependency, but when I attempt to create a package version, I got the following error:

> ERROR running force:package:version:create:  An error occurred while trying to install a package dependency, ID 04t1R000001E42D: Accounts Missing Organization Feature: Account.RecordType

I was able to resolve this error by updating my sfdx-project.json to add a reference to my definition file:

```
"definitionFile": "config/project-scratch-def.json",
```

and specify default record types in my scratch org json file:

```
    "account": {
        "defaultRecordType": "default"
    }
```

I now see the following error which I am unable to resolve:

```
sfdx force:package:version:create:report -i 08c4W000000PAv2QAG
(1) An error occurred while trying to install a package dependency, ID 04t1R000001E42D: Unexpected Error, Details: The package installation failed. Please provide the following information to the publisher:  Organization Name: SFDX Build Org Organization ID: 00D2D000000Da3v Package: EDA Version: 1.103 Error Message: The post install script failed.
```

On the EDA github repository I noticed that that the unpackaged/post directory has record types for course connection and case, so I added more defaultRecordType entries:

attempt 1

```
    "case" : {
      "defaultRecordType": "default"
    },
    "course_enrollment__c": {
      "defaultRecordType": "default"
    },
```

attempt 2

```
    "case" : {
      "defaultRecordType": "default"
    },
    "hed__course_enrollment__c": {
      "defaultRecordType": "default"
    }
```

However, I now get the following error, which I cannot remove at all, _even after removing references to hed__course_enrollment__c and course_enrollment__c from my project-scratch-def.json file

```
ERROR running force:package:version:create:  Course_enrollment__c.Default: Not in package.xml,Hed__course_enrollment__c.Default: Not in package.xml
```

I have successfully verified that if I create a package version without validation, I am able to install it successfully, after installing EDA.

Can someone tell me what files or Salesforce orgs I need to update to be able to create a verified package version with EDA as a dependency successfully?

    @Dileep Burki

    Case number: 27492001 ...

    In a discussion on powerofus:

    https://powerofus.force.com/s/question/0D51E00005Q2HLCSA3/salesforce-dx-unlocked-package-specifying-hedaeda-as-a-package-dependency .. @David Reed

    suggested I use an org-dependent unlocked package, but being a beta feature, that's unfortunately a non-starter as this package needs to be published to our clients.

    We intend to have our clients own/manage the Apex classes themselves, which is why using managed packages is not really an option for us.

    Unlocked packages provide upgradeability, which is why we'd like to move from unmanaged packages (which we're currently using) to this...
