I am using magic XPI as external tool to connect with Salesforce for record Updation based on external ID.
Requirement:
I want to update me contact record based on external ID (ExID__c= ' 2598 ') instead of Record ID.
ExID__c is the text Data and external ID field on contact.
- I am trying to update contact using ExID__c.
- There is "setRefbyExternalId(object, ExternalID_FieldName,'value') " function in magic to retrieve record ID but it throws below error message:
Ex. 'setRefbyExternalId(Contact,ExID__c,'2598')'
Salesforce call error: com.magicsoftware.ibolt.salesforce.IBSalesforceException: setRefbyExternalId Exception: String index out of range: -20
When tried to update contact record based external ID(which is lookup of Account), it works fine.
Also, It works with Upsert operation but facing problem for update using setRefbyExternalId() function.
Not able to understand that,
Is this error from magic XPI or Salesforce side.
Is there any other option to achieve this.
Please advice.
