Get Started with Mobile Procode Skills

Learning Objectives

After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:

  • Explain what Mobile Procode Skills are and the problem they solve.
  • Describe how skills work across multiple AI coding environments.

The Mobile App Bootstrapping Problem

If you build mobile apps, you know that building enterprise-grade native mobile applications require substantial setup work before any core business logic can be written. Developers must configure secure authentication, manage SDK dependencies across iOS and Android, and set up complex offline data synchronization. This process can consume days of setup time.

Take Northern Trail Outfitters (NTO), for example. Sophia, a developer at NTO, is building a native mobile app for field sales reps. The app needs to sync customer data, work offline, and let reps scan business cards with their phone's camera. Sophia knows exactly what business logic she wants to write, but before she can get there, she faces a mountain of setup work.

First, there's OAuth. She needs to configure a Connected App in Salesforce, implement the OAuth handshake in Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android, handle token refresh, and deal with secure storage. Then there's the Mobile SDK itself—version management, dependency configuration, Xcode build settings, Gradle files. And that's before she even thinks about offline behavior—SmartStore soup definitions, Mobile Sync targets, conflict resolution policies, network transition handling.

By the time Sophia finishes all this scaffolding, she's three days in and hasn't written a single line of business logic. There has to be a better way.

Enter Mobile Procode Skills

Mobile Procode Skills are AI agent capabilities that eliminate the bootstrapping problem. Instead of manually configuring OAuth, SDK versions, and offline behavior, Sophia describes what she wants in natural language. Then, the skill generates a clean, production-ready project with everything pre-configured.

Here's what makes them powerful.

  • Natural language creates production code: Sophia types "Build me a native iOS app for field reps with offline access to Accounts and Contacts," and the skill scaffolds a complete Xcode workspace.
  • The code is yours: The generated project is a standard Xcode or Android Studio workspace. Sophia can read it, refactor it, push it to GitHub, and own it from the moment it's created.
  • Built on proven technology: Skills use the same Salesforce Mobile SDK that powers the official Salesforce mobile apps—battle-tested, secure, and maintained.

How Mobile Procode Skills Work

Each skill is a self-contained package with three components.

  • Clear contract: The skill defines what it does, what inputs it needs, and what it produces.
  • Domain knowledge: The skill understands patterns, APIs, and conventions for the task at hand.
  • Executable instructions: The agent performs the work, not just describes it.

Mobile Procode Skills follow the open Agent Skills specification from agentskills.io. That means they're not locked to a single vendor—they work across multiple AI coding environments.

Where Skills Work

Mobile Procode Skills are compatible with:

  • Agentforce Vibes (auto-installed and auto-updated)
  • Claude Code
  • Cursor
  • OpenCode
  • Codex

If your AI coding environment supports the Agent Skills specification, Mobile Procode Skills work there. This portability ensures you're not locked into a single tool or vendor.

Available Skills

Mobile Procode Skills include seven specialized capabilities.

  • Create a Mobile SDK App from Scratch: Scaffolds a new project configured for your org, with authentication already wired up
  • Add Mobile SDK to Existing App: Integrates the Mobile SDK into an existing iOS or Android codebase without starting over
  • SmartStore Setup: Configures encrypted, on-device storage with soup definitions, indexing strategies, and query patterns
  • Mobile Sync: Sets up bidirectional sync between your app and your org with proper sync targets, policies, and conflict resolution
  • Offline-First Behavior: Combines SmartStore and Mobile Sync with appropriate cache policies and edge-case handling
  • Authentication and Login: Generates OAuth flows, login screens, and token management following Salesforce security recommendations
  • Biometric Authentication: Adds Face ID, Touch ID, or Android biometrics with platform difference handling and fallback flows

The skills understand the relationships between these features. If Sophia asks for offline access, the skill knows that requires both SmartStore and Mobile Sync configured correctly.

Why This Matters

Mobile Procode Skills don't just save time—they reduce the cognitive load of remembering every configuration detail. Instead of hunting through documentation for the correct SmartStore index spec or the right Mobile Sync policy, Sophia describes what she needs, and the skill generates it correctly.

The result? Sophia spends her time on what matters: building features that delight NTO's sales reps.

Now that you understand what Mobile Procode Skills are and how they eliminate bootstrapping overhead, learn how to install them and generate your first app.
