Extend Your App with Agentforce

Learning Objectives

After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:

  • Describe the iterative prompt-to-feature workflow for extending a generated app.
  • Identify advanced capabilities available through Mobile Procode Skills.
  • Explain code ownership and how generated code can be extended and maintained.

Beyond the Initial Scaffold

Sophia's app is running, syncing offline, and secured with biometrics. But the Northern Trail Outfitters (NTO) product team has new requirements.

  • Embed Agentforce: Let reps ask questions like "Show me high-value opportunities in my territory" without navigating through screens.
  • Add offline support for Opportunities: The app currently only syncs accounts and contacts. Reps need opportunities too.
  • Build a dashboard: Create a home screen with total pipeline, this week's meetings, and overdue follow-ups.

Sophia doesn't need to rewrite the app or dig through documentation. She uses the same iterative prompt-to-feature workflow that generated the initial scaffold.

The Iterative Development Pattern

Mobile Procode Skills are designed for iteration. Each follow-up prompt maps to a sub-skill with correct implementation patterns.

Here's how Sophia extends the app.

Embed Agentforce in the App

Sophia enters "Add an Agentforce chat panel to the app so users can ask questions about their data."

The skill builds the chat panel.

  • It integrates the Agentforce Mobile SDK.
  • It configures authentication so the agent has access to the user's org.
  • It adds a native chat UI component.
  • It handles error states and offline behavior, to queue questions to send when connected.

Marcus can now tap a chat icon, ask "What's the status of the Acme Corp deal?" and get an answer—even in areas with poor connectivity. His questions are queued and answered once back online.

Add Offline Support for Opportunities

Sophia enters "Add offline access to Opportunities."

The skill adds offline support.

  • It creates a new SmartStore soup for Opportunities.
  • It configures Mobile Sync sync targets for Opportunity sync-down and sync-up.
  • It updates indexes for common query patterns, for example filtering by Stage.
  • It generates UI components to display Opportunities.

No manual SOQL, no sync policy syntax to remember—just describe what you need.

Build a Custom Dashboard

Sophia enters "Create a dashboard screen with total pipeline value, this week's meetings, and overdue follow-ups."

The skill makes a dashboard.

  • It generates a native dashboard component (SwiftUI for iOS or Jetpack Compose for Android).
  • It queries SmartStore for the relevant data (aggregates, filters by date).
  • It handles empty states and loading indicators.
  • It updates the app's navigation to include the dashboard as the home screen.

The Prompt-to-Feature Workflow

Here's the pattern.

  1. Describe what you want: Use natural language to specify the feature.
  2. The skill routes to the correct sub-skill: The entry-point skill determines which specialized skill to invoke.
  3. Correct implementation generates: The skill generates idiomatic code following Mobile SDK conventions.
  4. You own the code: The generated code is readable, refactorable, and yours to extend.

This workflow scales. As Sophia adds more features—custom UI screens, additional object syncs, alerts, notifications—she describes what she wants, and the skill implements it correctly.

Own Your Code

At every step, the generated code is standard Swift or Kotlin. This way, Sophia can:

  • Read through it to understand how it works.
  • Refactor it to match NTO's coding standards.
  • Push it to GitHub for version control.
  • Extend it manually when a feature is too custom for a prompt.

Mobile Procode Skills generate transparent, maintainable code that Sophia's team can own and evolve.

Wrap Up

Review what Sophia built.

  • A native iOS app with OAuth authentication
  • Offline access to accounts, contacts, and opportunities via SmartStore and Mobile Sync
  • Biometric authentication (Face ID)
  • An embedded Agentforce chat panel
  • A custom dashboard showing pipeline metrics

All of this started from a single prompt. "Build me a native iOS app for field sales reps with offline access to accounts and contacts." Every additional feature came from follow-up prompts. Sophia spent her time on business logic and user experience, not on authentication handshakes and sync policy syntax.

Mobile Procode Skills eliminates the bootstrapping problem and lets Sophia focus on what matters—building an app that helps Marcus and the NTO sales team succeed in the field.
