#Consumer Goods Cloud9 debatiendo

Hi everyone 👋

we’re currently setting up a Substitution Management process in Salesforce Consumer Goods Cloud

to handle temporary user replacements — for example when a field rep is on vacation and another user should access their assigned Accounts, Contacts, Visits, and related records

We’ve been testing the standard Substitution Management feature and it seems to work fine for Accounts and Visits. However, we’re not entirely sure about the full functional scope — especially regarding Order Management

, activities, and permission handling in detail.

One thing we’ve also noticed during testing:

Even after a substitution period had expired (and the substitution record was deleted), the substitute user could still see the accounts of the replaced user. Has anyone else experienced something similar or found a clean way to fully revoke access once the substitution is no longer valid?

I’ve already checked the Salesforce Help documentation, but it only covers the basic setup (validity period, activation, etc.), not the behavioral details.

👉 Has anyone implemented Substitution Management in a real Consumer Goods Cloud setup and could share best practices, technical details, or documentation about how it behaves across objects like Orders, Activities, and Visits?

Any insights or lessons learned would be really appreciated! 🙏

Thanks a lot in advance!

Katrin

    Hi @Salesfive Admin

I'm running into exactly the same behavior in our CG Cloud setup. The substitute user continues to see the accounts even after the substitution has ended.

Did you ever find a solution or understand why this happens? I'd love to hear how you resolved it, if you did.

    Thanks in advance! 🙏

We have provisioned a new Consumer Goods Cloud (CG Cloud) org and are trying to develop a new CG Cloud Mobile application using CG Cloud Modeler.

The issue we are facing is that the newly provisioned org does not contain any preconfigured mobile application metadata such as UI Contracts, Process Flows, or Deployment Packages.

Current Situation

  • CG Cloud managed package is installed.
  • Sync Management is available.
  • Mobile application login is working.
  • There are no existing UI Contracts available in the org.
  • There are no existing custom Application modules (Cockpit, Dashboard, Home, etc.).
  • There are no Deployment Packages containing a base mobile application.

We have an older CG Cloud Modeler project from another org, but we no longer have access to that source org. We are trying to avoid migrating a large legacy application and instead want to build a new, minimal application for this new org.

Questions

  1. Does Salesforce provide a base CG Cloud Mobile application or starter project that can be imported into a new org?
  2. Is there a supported way to generate the initial UI Contracts, Process Flows, and Application metadata for a brand-new CG Cloud org?
  3. Are there any sample Deployment Packages or reference applications that can be downloaded for new implementations?
  4. What is the recommended process for creating a brand-new CG Cloud Mobile application using Modeler in a fresh org?
  5. Is there any documentation describing the minimum required Application, UI Contracts, Process Flows, Sync Configuration, and Tracked Objects needed to create a working mobile application from scratch?

Expected Outcome

We would like to create a minimal CG Cloud Mobile application that:

  • Authenticates successfully.
  • Synchronizes with the new org.
  • Displays a simple Home screen.
  • Can later be extended with additional business modules.

If there is an official starter template, sample project, reference implementation, or recommended setup guide, please provide the appropriate documentation or download location.

Thank you.     @* Consumer Goods Cloud *

First check for the accounts (stores) in mobile app, whether you can see stores or not

Hi Everyone,

I am currently configuring Salesforce Consumer Goods Cloud and I’m facing three specific blockers on the Offline Mobile App. Despite following the standard configuration steps, I am hitting a wall.

Problem 1: Assessment Tasks not showing data

Inside the Retail Store Cockpit, I can see the Task headers (e.g., Inventory Check, Assets Check), but when I click into them, the screen is completely blank or shows no records.

Steps I have already performed:

  1. Definitions: Created Assessment Indicator Definitions and Assessment Task Definitions.
  2. Templates: Created an Action Plan Template (Target Object: Visit) and added the Task Definitions.
  3. Publication: Set the Action Plan Template to 'Active'.
  4. Visit Linkage: Created a Visit for a Retail Store and successfully generated the Action Plan from the template.
  5. Mobile Sync: Performed a 'Full Sync' on the mobile app.
  6. Permission Sets: Assigned CG Cloud Sales User and CG Cloud Refresh permissions to the user.

Problem 2: Order Creation Error ("Order is lesser than minimum value")

When attempting to save or submit an Advanced Order, I receive the following error: "The total value 0.00 of the Order is lesser than the minimum value 10 of the Order template. Choose a delivery date at least 0 workdays in the future."

Steps I have already performed to troubleshoot:

  1. Orderer Role: Verified that the Account has a Customer Extension record with the Orderer role set to 'Direct'.
  2. Templates: Linked the Order Item Template to the main Order Template.
  3. Pricing: Created a Condition Template (Absolute/Price) and a Customer Specific Product Condition for the items.
  4. The Issue: Even though quantity is entered, the Price and Receipt Value remain 0.00 in the basket, causing the minimum value validation to fail.

Problem 3: "You can't create orders for a customer who isn't an orderer"

Even though I am visiting a Retail Store, I get an "Info" popup blocking me from starting a new order.

Steps I have performed:

  1. Verified the Account linked to the Retail Store.
  2. Ensured the Account has a Customer Extension record.
  3. Checked the Orderer role checkbox and set it to 'Direct' with valid dates (2026-2070).
  4. Verified the user is assigned as a Customer Manager for that Account.
  5. Performed a Full Sync on the mobile app.

    Questions for the Community:
    • Is there a specific Sales Org or Account Hierarchy setting that might cause the app to ignore the 'Orderer' flag?
    • Why would Assessment Tasks show as empty rows if the Action Plan is correctly generated?
    • Is there a "hidden" Search Sequence or Pricing Procedure step required for the offline mobile app to pick up new Condition records?

     Sorry,

I'm actually experiencing a similar issue - Items aren't showing up after selecting an Order Template. I went back to check for the 'Orderer' checkbox field in the Customer Extension, but I can't find this field. Which field is this exactly, and how do I set it up so I can select Items?

    Thank you in advance.

Is anyone in this community using salesforce trade promotion management?     \

I am in CPG trade promotion management. Each account needs to have a product assortment. There is no easy way to do this except manually. We can't copy assortment or have multiple customers assign to one assortment. This is so time consuming and if there is a change we have to go to each one to add or remove a product. Do you have any suggestions to automate this process. We are in a world where everything is automated. I can't believe that Saleforce has not automated this process. What am I missing?

    Hi @Diana Weaver

    -  This is a common pain point in Salesforce Consumer Goods Cloud.

    1. Use Data Loader / Bulk API-  Export one “template” assortment and reuse it.

Update the AccountId and load it again for multiple customers. Good for initial setup or mass updates.

    2. Use Flow for automation

    •  Trigger: when Account is created/updated , Fetch template assortment
    •  Create related assortment records automatically

       This handles ongoing automation.

I'm working on a CG cloud client demo.

In CG mobile App  Clicking CRM Analytics section doesn't works.

The solution I found was assigning  CGCloud Analytics permission sets to user.

There is another permission set  CG Analytics User  but that require license and in documentation I found that it's an add on.

For a client demo purpose I didn't find this license in Partner demo org or trial version both.

@Saqib Ashraf seems to be like a licensing/provisioning limitation than a mobile app configuration issue.

For CRM Analytics inside CG Cloud, assigning only the regular CG Cloud permission sets is usually not enough. Salesforce’s setup guidance requires the user to have CG Analytics User and CRM Analytics Plus User permission sets for Consumer Goods Analytics access. The important part is that CG Analytics User depends on the CRM Analytics for Consumer Goods add-on license, so if that license is not in the partner demo org or trial org, the mobile analytics section will not work fully (https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.retail_admin_analytics_assignuser.htm&language=en_US&type=5

For a client demo, the clean option is to use a CRM Analytics-enabled Agentforce Consumer Goods / CG Cloud demo org, or ask your Salesforce AE/partner team to provision the proper demo licenses. Trailhead also calls out that CRM Analytics is not available in a normal Trailhead Playground and requires a special CRM Analytics-enabled Consumer Goods Developer Edition org (Improve Retail Analysis with CRM Analytics

I would also check that the analytics app/dashboard is actually created, the user has access to the dashboard/app, mobile links or analytics cards are configured, and the mobile app has completed a fresh sync. But if the required analytics permission set license is missing, this cannot be fixed only with CGCloud permission sets.

  • I am using the CG Cloud Offline App and encountering the following error: "No Sales_Organization_User__c record found for user!" during sync.
  • The Sales Organization User record has already been created and mapped to the user.
  • I have provided Read access for both the Sales Organization and Sales Organization User objects.
  • The record is accessible and visible to the user in Salesforce.
  • Despite these configurations, the issue still persists during mobile sync.

    Hi,

Can you verify that you have created a User Setting record for the user, and Sales Org,  Mobile Sales Org and Language Postfix values are populated on the user record? This maybe a potential reason for not finding the Sales Org User record.

    Thanks,

    Sumit
