Need Guidance on How to Capture Matching Gifts in NPC

Hi Everyone,

I’m looking for guidance on how to capture

Matching Gifts in the new Nonprofit Cloud

. I couldn’t find any related documentation.

If anyone knows the steps or has any documentation or references, please share. It would be very helpful.

No  @Usman Khan https://trailblazers.salesforce.com/profileView?u=0053A00000DCV9xQAH  - that video and module are about NPSP, not the new Nonprofit Cloud as asked.     There is no documentation I can find around matching gifts in NPC. However, there is an out of the box "Matching Employer Transaction" field on Gift Transaction that's a lookup to Gift Transaction. I don't think there's any automation behind it. So it's likely that you would have to manually match the Transactions together using that field, as well as add any customization you'd like to see around soft crediting.

hi @Manjula Rajaram, Matching Gifts in Nonprofit Cloud are not fully automated yet the way they were in NPSP, which is why you’re not finding much documentation. In NPC today, matching gifts are typically captured using a separate Donation or Commitment record that represents the employer’s match. The common approach is to record the original donor’s gift first, then create a second donation for the matching amount and relate it back to the original gift using relationships or custom fields. This keeps reporting clean while still tracking both contributions. Most orgs handle this by:  Capturing employer information on the original donation  Using a custom field or relationship to link the matching gift to the original gift  Creating the matching gift donation once the employer confirms the match Some teams also use automations like Flow to help create or flag matching gift records, but there isn’t an out of the box NPC feature yet that automatically processes matching gifts end to end. Salesforce is still evolving NPC features, so this is an area where more native support and documentation is expected in future releases.
