We're splitting our tableau access request to two different teams. Before the site owner would do everything from reviewing the request and adding the user, assigning the licenses etc..

Now, our IT security team will be reviewing and adding new Users to AD groups and assign a license, taking the site owner out of the workflow. However, the site owner still wants to be notified when someone gets assigned a license or added to the site to be in the loop.

Is there a way to setup a notification that sends an email to the site owner when a new user is added to, and, or assigned a license to in the site ?

Any thoughts or insights on this situation ? Thanks in advance!

Best,

BoBo

    Hi

Publishing a workbook with the repository as the data source and setting up data-driven alerts might be a good way to notify users of an increase or decrease in users or an increase in licenses. The question is which table in the repository stores the information on the number of users and licenses.

Collect Data with the Tableau Server Repository

    https://help.tableau.com/current/server/en-us/perf_collect_server_repo.htm

    Set Up for Data-Driven Alerts

    https://help.tableau.com/current/server/en-us/data_alerts_admin.htm

    The easy part,

It would be good to check with the IT security team on the number of users added and licenses used on a daily basis.
