Reason I am asking this question is, I may have worked in BFSI Domain for past 5 years and If I get a scenario of Energy and Utilities in review board exam. I may not make relevant assumptions as my domain knowledge is not enough. Since review board is for checking technical expertise, is it possible to swap scenario? #Jobs @Suzanne Ferguson
My 2 cents: you are not expected or required to be an industry domain expert in order to pass the review board. Yes, you may get a scenario in an industry that you have no real-life experience in, however in my experience the scenarios are written in such a way that domain knowledge is not required in order to make the necessary assumptions. The industry is almost coincidental, and is provided just to make the scenario more concrete and realistic- industry concepts, if relevant or important, will be explained to you in the scenario. You are given enough information to understand what the company is trying to accomplish, why they are doing the project, and what the requirements are (and just enough info to read between the lines to identify any implicit requirements that might be necessary to support the overall functionality of the build).
I highly doubt you would be allowed to swap a scenario. Best way to prepare is to do as many mocks as possible with as many different mock judges that are ideally at least as far along as you are on the #JourneyToCTA to get diverse perspectives and ways of thinking.
Have you encountered any mock scenarios where you felt the lack of industry experience prevented you from making the necessary assumptions?
