I'm trying to use the header search feature to find Notes attached to accounts and contacts (new notes). My understanding was that the new notes are supposed to be searchable. If I go to the "Files" tab, and use the search there, I can search and find the notes I've created in that interface, and they come up as expected for the text strings I'm using. If however I try the header search box, I don't get any notes returned in my result set.
I'm having a hard time finding basic documentation on how to configure this to work. I have read a few posts suggesting it is supposed to be possible.

One follow up comment is that I realize now that Notes become available to search on after completing the initial search and then clicking on "Search All" in the left nav. It then does bring up my notes in the search results. Any way to include Notes in that initial search?
