The Genius Plug-in for Outlook lets you send fully trackable Genius e-mails from within
Microsoft® Outlook®. The plug-in makes it easy to add all the benefits of Genius tracking and reporting to your everyday work process, without any programming or IT involvement. You can find more information about the plug-in, including where to get it, by visiting the Genius Plug-in for Outlook page. Just click on the correct option under “E-mail” in your main menu.
The installation wizard will guide you through the installation process.
1. Set your Genius preferences when Outlook starts after installing the Plug-in. Preferences are saved and available whenever you use Outlook in the future.
2. Select “Auto Launch Tracker” to ensure the Genius Tracker is started automatically
in Internet Explorer® when Outlook is launched, or a Genius E-mail is sent.
3. Click on “Choose Opt-out Font” to customize the font and text size of the e-mail opt-out
footer.
4. Click “OK” when you’re finished.
Compose and address your e-mail as usual using Outlook. Attachments and inline images are fully supported. Include one or more links to your website to enable Genius tracking. We recommend that you use the hyperlink tool in Outlook to create display links, which provide a more professional look.
All mail merge fields available in Genius are available when composing e-mail with the
Genius Plug-in for Outlook. An opt-out footer can be added with a click of the mouse.
When you select “Send with Genius,” Genius servers automatically encode the URL(s) in your e-mail, deliver your e-mail and track e-mail opens and visits to your website. Each To, Cc, and Bcc recipient will receive their own personalized version of the e-mail, and no other recipients will be visible to them. In addition, the Genius Plug-in for Outlook respects the opt-out list stored on Genius servers, and opted-out recipients will be removed prior to sending the e-mail.
An optional note confirming that your e-mail was sent will be delivered to your Outlook address, and a copy of the e-mail will be stored in your “Sent Items” folder.
