Our biggest barrier right now in moving to Lightning is all of our old URL-hack buttons that prefill new related records. Custom actions are only available for master detail relationships, and they also don't show up in the related list (where my users expect to find them). And the other options (flow, lightning components, etc.) take a lot of work to build and maintain, and they still don't match the functionality, especially if I'm looking for something that will work both in Classic and Lightning during the transition. We also have custom clone buttons that clone but assign a new record type, and I don't know how to replicate that functionality in lightning.
What are you doing to pre-fill records in your org? Are you happy with it?

After some testing, I think the issue is that the capital interest has a master detail relationship with another object, and therefore sharing visibility is controlled by the parent. It seems like it will only allow you to create an object specific action from the master if there is a master-detail relationship. If there isn't a master-detail relationship, then you can create it from any of the lookup objects.
