Here is the idea - we want to build and publish an e-book on Visual Flows that includes Business Cases, Instructions and Examples and would be published through

.

ALL proceeds collected would be donated to charity - no profit to us.

We are also going to engage additional Flow Experts such as

to help with the accuracy and completeness of content.

Regarding the Non-Profit aspect, we are seeking guidance from the

and the Salesforce Foundation Team on how to best set up so that we can direct the funds collected for use within the Success Community.

Since ALL proceeds collected from this and (hopefully) future eBooks will go directly into the fund, our intent is that the collected funds will be available for donation when Community Members suffer hardship.

As an example, this year, one of our Central Illinois User Group Leaders, Lori Moore, was tragically killed. A friend of Lori's set up a GoFundMe and we Chattered/Twittered, etc. so that folks throughout the Community (and many of our Employers including

) had an opportunity to Donate.

Our thought is that it would have been lovely if we had also had a Success Community Fund that could have made a donation to the GoFundMe for Lori's family, so that is what we are going to do for the future.

Hello Everyone,

I'm kind of interested in learning Apex code and some Visualforce. I don't know a single programming language; where should I start? Should I learn Java? HTML? I'm hoping to at least learn enough to pass the Platform Developer I certification; it seems that you only need to know the basics and then maybe some intermediate stuff.

I'm a complete newbie to code in general, but I have picked up a few things. I've earned my Administrator and Platform App Builder exams (like those help!) so I'm not new to Salesforce. I do know some extremely basic things, like what DML, SOQL, and for loops are, but that's obviously not enough to actually write code.

I've done some Trailhead. I've finished the developer beginner trail, but that doesn't mean I can actually write any code. Are there any modules I need to really, seriously dig into and understand every last character to get started? What are some "for-starter's" resources? What helped you the most when you were trying to learn Apex?

Any suggestions?
