I am trying to create a sharing rule for the custom object I created. I am supposed to set the Field to Type but Type isn't an option. What am I doing wrong?

Hey Tara, 

This is a known field-level security, not something wrong with how you created the field. Even though you created "Type" as a picklist field on Program, if it's not visible/accessible in the Sharing Rule filter, the checker won't detect it either. 

Fix: 

1. Setup > Object Manager > Program > Fields & Relationships > Type 

2. Click "View Field Accessibility" 

3. Manually set the field to Visible (not just Read Access) for the profiles involved, some profiles default to hidden even after field creation 

4. Alternatively, try setting the Type field to Required, this has also fixed this exact error for others hitting the same issue 

Save, then go back to your Sharing Rule setup and confirm Type now appears as a selectable Field option.
