We are currently evaluating options for a routing and delivery app that integrates with Salesforce. Our specific use case is for Meals on Wheels meal delivery - we need office staff to be able to create and optimize routes based on number of clients, geographic area, etc., and we need delivery drivers to be able to access those routes via mobile and mark each meal delivered. Our consultant has suggested either Salesforce Maps or Field Service.

If your organization has used Salesforce Maps or Field Service, what was your experience? Are there other options out there that might also work well for our use case?

Note: We are hoping our routing/delivery solution can also integrate with Volunteers for Salesforce, since many of our delivery drivers are volunteers and we already have all of our routes entered as Volunteer Jobs. According to our consultant, Field Service does this, but I would be interested in hearing if any other solutions do this as well.

Thank you!

The no-longer-Omnitracs client I have is currently using SF Maps. They were looking for something better, but Omnitracs wasn't it. Mostly because they couldn't make their apps HIPAA compliant, I believe.
