I work for a bicycle non-profit organization in Hawaii. We are currently using CiviCRM and a variety of other products to manage our memberships, donations, volunteers, bulk mailings, and event registrations. I believe Salesforce could greatly improve our data processing. Hoping someone here can answer some questions we have, or direct me to previous posts that will.

What we're looking to use Salesforce for:

- Individual Memberships

- Individual Donations / Donation Campaigns

- Business Contributions / Memberships

- Volunteering (signup, tracking, etc)

- Tracking Event Participation (Webconnex registration software)

- Advocacy Campaigns

- Track Mass Emails (Newsletter, Event Updates, etc)

Questions I have:

- How does Salesforce integrate into our wordpress website.

- I assume the backend login is at

login.salesforce.com

- Currently people join and donate on our website

- What do customer forms look like? Membership, Donation, etc

- Does this require an additional plugin?

- Payment processors? Paypal?

- Can customers access their accounts in some way?

- Update address, renew membership, donate

- How does the Volunteer portion function?

- What does the public page look like? Easy to sign up?

- Can volunteers manage their sign ups?

- How does data transfer work from our current CRM to Salesforce?

- What does Salesforce do standalone, vs what plugins will we need to meet our goals?

- Does Salesforce send emails or does it need to be tied with another program?

- Other bicycle organization (or at least membership based organizations) using Salesforce

- Implementation costs / process

Thanks,

Travis

Apologies as this is a super old thread (and ironic that Donna you're in Happy Valley as we just moved from there to Montoursville) but I work with a nonprofit back in that area and we've used CiviCRM but I've not been super happy with it. I'm hoping since this thread is 6 years old, that a number of the things SF couldn't do back then, it can now. We are also on WordPress and are in the process of looking for a new domain provider. I'm toying with the idea of getting us off Civi and to SF if it makes sense.
