Pardot Marketing Data Sharing

Working on switching our Pardot connector from v1 to v2. Reading about the Marketing Data Sharing where you can filter which Contacts and Leads to sync, it says: "To prevent Pardot record updates from causing prospects to unmatch rules, rules can be based only on unmapped Salesforce fields. The field must belong to the rule’s object and be editable."

 

Does this mean I can't use a formula field for my criteria since the field must be "editable"? We have complex logic we want to use to determine if a record should be sync'd, and I would love to just put it all into a formula, but this text makes it seem like it would have to be an input field and thus automation would be needed to set it.

    Hi there - This is a bit of a late response, so you may have already moved forward. You cannot use a formula field to drive your MDS rules.
