I am a salesforce developer with "Platform developer 1" and "Salesforce Administrator certification".
1. Should I apply for a sales cloud consultant certification?
2. Will it change the career path as a developer?
Please suggest as I am very confused about it.

That should be completely based on your interest area in Salesforce. But if you are using Sales cloud in your current project or organization it will be surely helpful. Still I would suggest to go through once on carter path link
