Recently, I have been looking for a way to translate all labels of an org in Salesforce. However, I have run into a problem when trying to translate the forecast types.

Salesforce translates the standard Opportunity Revenue forecast type but does not translate any custom forecast type. I have tried to translate it manually from WorkBench Translations but this option does not appear. I have also contacted Salesforce support and they have agreed that this is a limitation.

I have posted on IdeaExchange the case so they can resolve it and this will be implemented in the future. So, i would like you to give it visibility to help me achieve a multilingual organization.

Hi,

I have a question related to FORECAST.  #Forecast Type  #Forecast Tab

I need to have a forecast by product (not by family), so I have not checked the group by family set up.

I have 2 issues. One, I'm not able to see the forecast split in products (only family group when the checkbox of family is true) and I'm not able to choose Quantity in any forecast type.

What setup did I miss?

Thanks in advance

Veronica

Hello,

I am facing a challenge in enabling a new forecast type - Opportunity By Quantity.

When I go to Forecast settings, I click on 'Add forecast type', but then the only option I can select for Forecast Type is 'Product Families' (see screenshot attached).

I do notice the following note: 'Select a forecast type you want to enable for users. Depending on your organization’s configurations, some forecast types will be available and others will not. '

How can I make the type Opportunity Quantity available for my organization?

Hi - was hoping to get a PM to weigh in...I've been working with support for weeks to try to get some of my gaps with the collaborative forecasting product to an acceptable point - executive management is excited at the prospect of implementing forecasting but I still have some challenges.  On my previous question posted June 30, I was trying to report all 3 of my custom forecast types in 1 report, against the management adjusted amounts.  Support has advised me that I need 3 separate reports (1 for each forecast type) and a filter by forecast type API name.  Then I can compare sum of forecast amount to sum of owner only amount. Can someone confirm this is the best/ most valid solution? Also, I am told I can only use custom report type Forecasting Items with no join to Opportunities . This is not optimal because management can't tie the forecast back to opportunities in the report - they would have to rely solely on the forecast tab screen.  Thank you! Anne

@Mike Wey aha - that makes sense. I guess there are definite drawbacks to the cumulative forecast categories. Another one is the Grand Total in my matrix report is adding up the cumulative categories overstating the total (counting the sums multiple times as you explained above). Is there any way to hide the Grand Total as it is completely inaccurate?

Does anyone know of a way to rename a Forecast Type for the Product Families - Revenue forecast in Collaborative Forecasts? We are trying to roll out Collaborative, but our users are really struggling with this terminology because we use product families (but we call them offering families or business units) and revenue scheduling. The Forecast tab uses the Opportunity Close Date to group the forecasts, not the schedule date, so my users are very confused as to how it can be called a "revenue" forecast. In our company, it's a "booking" forecast or TCV (total contract value) forecast.

@Christian Anderson, not Spring 16 since CFY is more important feature for many customers. Hopefully summer 16 for product/revenue schedule. Safe harbor applies.

In Collaborative forecasting, when using a custom field and forecast type to forecast, does the custom field amount become related to "Amount without Adjustments", "Amount without Manager Adjustments", and "Forecast Amount" automatically?

Yes, values in these fields are now from custom field and not opportunity amount.
