Hi All,

I am trying to put a binding on a Widget Property but it is not working. I am starting to doubt if it is possible at all. I have a stacked bar chart with sales targets per quarter showing values. I want to bind the 'Normalize' property so a user can switch between numbers and percentages. However I keep getting the Invalid JSON error. I guess that is because the parameter is a boolean and my binding is returning a string (with "") but I don't know how to fix this.Anyone fixed this before? The binding syntax I use is: {{cell(Normalize_targets_to_1.selection, 0, \"boolean\").asString()}} and I am copying this in the Widget property Normalize (which is boolean true/false).

According to https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.bi_dev_guide_bindings.meta/bi_dev_guide_bindings/bi_dashboard_bindings_limitations.htm I am assuming it should be possible since my widget Type is chart.

Hi EA Champs,

I am trying to bind the "Normalize values" checkbox in Stacked Column chart and its kind of failing.

Its in the json widget properties as "normalize": false

I am using a static toggle and trying to change the values (true/false) on the selection of the toggle.

I have tried will all types of binding statements but no success.

I think its a Boolean value and hence binding is not working on that property.

Please suggest.

    @Bartlomiej Zawadzki

    I click on the graph I'm editing, click "Advanced Editor", under the "Widget" tab, if you scroll down you'll see the "normalize" key. The. value for the key is where I paste my binding, which looks like this:

     "normalize": "{{cell(static_2.selection, 0, \"Values\").asObject()}}",

    Where "static_2" is the toggle I made. When I made the toggle, I made it like this:

    I click on the graph I'm editing, click

    Hopefully that helps!

Hello everyone,

Currently i am stuck with  custom query and pyramid chart.

I use a custom query to change the bar segment in my pyramid chart. It works when the left and right axis are unique.(streamX), count(streamY).

However, when left and right axis are composed of custom formula, it does not work anymore.

I have checked in the developer guide and other blogs, they said to replace the colunmMap value by "null". It works only when custom formula are not use in the left and right axis.

I'm stuck ...

In the colunmMap fo the "widget" and "Query" panels I tried relacing the "dimensionAxis"  parameter by the following binding :

_{{column(binding_table_axe_an_1.selection, [\"analyse_axis\"]).asObject()}}

_{{column(binding_table_axe_an_1.selection, [\"analyse_axis\"]).asString()}}

_{{column(binding_table_axe_an_1.result, [\"analyse_axis\"]).asObject()}}

But nothing...

one advice ?

Best regards

I have created a multiple dataset query containing 2 datasets. Now I try to add a binding to switch between 2 dimensions in the query; totalprice and quantity.

I have added the same binding to different tables and graphs and it works fine. I'm struggling with the binding on the multiple dataset query. Does someone knows how to add it to the JSON?

The binding which I have used in the other queries is:

"{{column(Waarde_static_1.selection, [\"value\"]).asObject()}}"

I have added printscreens of the JSON of the multiple dataset query.

Thank you in advance!! Marjon

I have created a stacked bar chart that has a dynamic group filter and that is working great, but what I really want to do is have a dynamic filter that allows me to switch the segments between two dimensions.  So my chart looks like the attached, but what I want to do is group on fiscal year quarter and create a dynamic segment that switches between Revenue Type and Forecast Category.

Can anyone point me to an example of where someone has figured out how to do something similar? I have searched here in this forum on 'segment binding' but haven't found anything so far.

Hi everyone,

I am trying to use a dynamic binding to dynamically change the image widget name and consequently the picture itself..

I have uploaded 2 pictures and those are called test1png and test2png in the advance editor.

However, when I implement the binding over the name (defaulting it as test1png) it shows "image not found".

Anyone can help? Below the use case.

{{coalesce(cell(SegmentationPOS_1.selection, 0, \"Segment_Text_POS__c\"), \"test1png\").asObject()}}

{

"type": "image",

"parameters": {

"fit": "stretch",

"alignmentX": "left",

"alignmentY": "top",

"image": {

"name": "{{coalesce(cell(SegmentationPOS_1.selection, 0, \"Segment_Text_POS__c\"), \"test1png\").asObject()}}",

"namespace": ""

}

}

}

    I found the answer! Maybe worth investigating increasing the scope of the bindings to more widgets' properties?

Hi Everyone,

I am trying binding, where I want to establish interaction between two chart widgets (X and Y) which are having different datasets.

When a user clicks any bar of X widget, Y should get filter accordingly.

I have tried to connect the data sources by using the common column in both the datasets and it didn't work.

(Note: The filed used for this bar in X widget doesn't exist in Y widget's dataset. Although there is one unique field which is common in both the datasets but not using in any of these charts directly.)

Any suggestions how can I use binding for this usecase?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance:)

Hi All,

Can we use dynamic bindings to navigate from one page to another on the basis of values in the list widget (created using custom query)?

If anyone came across any such resources please do share.

Thanks!!

    If you are trying to use selections to drive the current page, then that's not something we support out of the box ... yet <hint>. But one method that works is using the WebSDK. With that you can retrieve selection events, and set the dashboard state to include specifying a different page.

Hi,

I'm fiddling around with table widgets and trying to make the table interactive by letting a user select a row. It appears that clicking on a row in a table widget does not actually register as a true selection for faceting purposes. If I throw a binding into a text widget, I can see that setting the binding to either result or selection with selection required returns a value, but simply using selection as the binding criteria without a required selection does not - and clicking anywhere on the table does not make a selection and the binding never returns a value. Is this functionality achievable somehow so a user can click on a row to make a selection that is then usable in faceting?

    Only in Compare and Pivot Table, not in values table. We have code that actively blocks selections in values table. The reason is that to emit facets we look up the groups and only facet by those fields. With a values table, there's no group and often faceting by all columns wouldn't be what users want.

    Best workaround is use a compare table with something like a group by record id, then it will be selectable and facetable, and you can even hide the id column if needed.

    We do plan to allow some sort of opt-in to selection on values table specifically for bindings and Mass Action use cases, but not sure what release yet.
