Annual Letters For Child Sponsors

We are managing our child sponsorships in Salesforce and need to create annual letter templates to send to children to fill out for their sponsors. I'd like to create then using the information and picture of the child that is stored in Salesforce, then print to pdf, and possibly email to their primary contact.  

In my research I've come across S-Docs and Conga as options to solution this.  

Has anyone else done this or something similar? 

I would want to then use the same solution to create Thank You letters and receipts for donations.  

Any feedback would be much appreciated!

Just starting out with Agentforce Nonprofit (AFNP)? Getting stakeholder management right — individuals, households, relationships, affiliations — is one of the hardest parts of a new implementation. There are a lot of objects, a lot of settings, and a lot of choices to make at once. 

 

The Stakeholder Management Quick Start is a free, open-source Global Public Sector Accelerator built specifically for new AFNP customers. It installs an unmanaged package with best-practice configuration already in place — so admins can focus on their organization's needs instead of figuring out the plumbing. 

 

Who is this for?

 Admins and implementation teams starting a new Agentforce Nonprofit implementation who need the stakeholder data model set up correctly from day one. 

 

Why was this built?

The AFNP stakeholder model — households, relationships, affiliations, contact points — requires dozens of interconnected decisions before staff can use it effectively. Without a clear starting point, implementations often end up with duplicate records, broken address syncs, and cleanup debt that builds silently for months. This accelerator provides the starting line. 

 

How can it help me?

Install the package and get the following out of the box:

  • Households — automated household naming, Party Relationship Group creation, and a guided screen flow for adding/removing members and managing per-member address and phone sync
  • Relationships & Affiliations — guided flows for individual-to-individual, person-to-org, and org-to-org relationships with automatic reciprocal creation, customizable roles, and support for preserving history
  • Contact Info — Contact Point Address, Phone, and Email as the system of record, with per-member household sync that respects individual preferences
  • Setup — custom app, Dynamic Lightning Pages, permission sets, quick actions, and field help text ready to go

Purple Heart Homes

, we provide housing renovations and repairs for disabled Veterans. Each home repair job is tracked as an individual project. 

We are currently revising many of our internal processes. We would love to connect with and learn from similar organizations about how you manage your

    Hi Cheryl. Not to be spammy but if, during your process audit, the consideration of moving project data into Salesforce arises (assuming it’s not, like spreadsheets or MS Project), you can actually add project management with built-in expense capabilities to your Salesforce org/account via AgentExchange (fka AppExchange) for free. Some people aren’t aware that Salesforce has an app marketplace, so I figured I’d mention that you can extend your Salesforce usage (including with our app Milestones PM+) and overall investment (since SF can get quite pricey😅).

  • Salesforce recently shared an important update on securing Experience Cloud guest user access. If you haven't already, review the Trust Site post and this blog on protecting your data to validate your guest user configuration.

Help with Address Management in NPSP

Looking for suggestions on how to deal with Address Management in NPSP. Specifically, around mass updating addresses. We got an updated list from NCOA and I am trying to determine the best way to add/verify the new addresses.  In some spot checking, we do already have the address that NCOA gave us, but it's not the default address anymore, at least in our SF. So I would not want to "add" a duplicate address.  So I am wondering what others do?  I mean there has got to be a way. Any upload tools out there that would help with this?  I have XL-Connector and I know I could export and do some vlookup's, etc to help, but I just looking for any short cuts to help, beside manually reviewing all of the records

     If you are working with a mail house/print service provider and intend to continue using them, make sure to send your list with the account id so you can match them up after the fact.  Having said that, using a Mail house and moving your address quality initiatives downstream prior to mailing is the absolute worst place to manage data quality.  IMO, data quality is best managed at the record of truth proactively.   This includes building a custom app or using a managed package like NCOA 4 Salesforce which is available now and in the process of getting in the app exchange.  The process handles the entire data set (not just what you are mailing) and works with a few clicks.  You can choose how to import and avoid duplication.  Happy to show it to you or can see a common demo: Typical NCOA 4 Salesforce demo to a nonprofit organization

Uninstalled connected apps questions

With the recent announcement that Salesforce will start making some changes to uninstalled connected apps.  I am looking for some guidance and resources on how to proceed. 

 

I want to preface my questions, by stating something up front, I was not even aware this was a "thing" until I heard about the "fake dataloader" issue and the reports coming out from that. 

 

I have read the main article

  and I have been looking to see what Connected App that I have that are NOT installed.  A number of them appear to be SF related like AppExchange, Salesforce Developers, SF help, User groups SF for Android, trailblazer and some others.  There is also one called "Community", it doesn't look like anyone has used that since 2018. 

 

Should I install those SF connected apps and for the others, any suggestions on what permissions I should set?  Refresh Token Policy, Timeout Values and more...I am just looking for guidance, as some of this is a bit over my head.  I mean I do "understand" it, but I don't completely "understand" it...

Salesforce to SuperSaas (and vice versa)

I was just wondering if anyone here has ever tried creating integrations between NPSP Salesforce and SuperSaas before? (I am using Make to build the integration).  

 

I am trying to create a new, more accessible scheduling system for my volunteers to sign up to sessions and activities, and I like SuperSaas's functionalities... but I need to ensure the available slots/bookings on SuperSaas is aligned with my Shift and Session Attendance objects in Salesforce.  

 

I have been able to create a SuperSaas to Salesforce integration (allowing volunteers to book a session inside SuperSaas) but I am struggling to create a Salesforce to SuperSaas integration for handling backoffice changes in SF that SuperSaas needs to reflect. The API is struggling to find the correct SuperSaas slots to amend. Any advice or suggestions much appreciated!

    Hi Sam, 

     

    This is a common pain point with SuperSaaS integrations — the trick is to stop trying to "find" the matching slot from the Salesforce side, and instead capture and store the SuperSaaS identifiers at the point of creation so Salesforce always has a direct reference for later updates. 

     

    1. Root of the issue 

    When SuperSaaS creates a booking, the API response includes a Location header pointing to the newly created appointment, in the format: 

    https://www.supersaas.com/api/bookings/{appointment_id}.json

     

     

    This appointment_id (along with the schedule_id) is what you need to reliably update or delete that specific booking later. If you're not capturing and storing this at creation time, any later Salesforce-to-SuperSaaS update has to guess/search for the matching slot based on date/time/name, which is fragile and exactly the kind of "can't find the correct slot" issue you're running into. 

     

    2. Recommended fix 

    When the SuperSaaS to Salesforce sync happens (the direction that's already working), make sure your Make scenario also: 

       - Captures the appointment_id and schedule_id returned by SuperSaaS 

       - Writes them into two fields on your Salesforce Session Attendance record (e.g., SuperSaaS_Appointment_Id__c and SuperSaaS_Schedule_Id__c) 

     

    3. Fixing the Salesforce to SuperSaaS direction 

    Once those Ids are stored, your outbound Make scenario (Salesforce to SuperSaaS) should: 

       - Trigger on changes to Shift/Session Attendance 

       - Use the stored SuperSaaS_Appointment_Id__c and SuperSaaS_Schedule_Id__c directly in the API call 

       - Call the Update Appointment endpoint directly: 

         PUT

    https://www.supersaas.com/api/bookings/{appointment_id}.json?api_key=your_api_key

     

       - No searching/matching required, since you're referencing the exact record 

     

    4. If some records don't have a stored appointment_id yet (existing/legacy data) 

    For a one-time backfill, you can use SuperSaaS's range/list endpoint to pull all appointments for a given schedule_id within a date range, then match them back to Salesforce records based on date/time/volunteer name as a one-off reconciliation, and store the resulting appointment_id going forward. After that, you shouldn't need to search again. 

     

    5. For ongoing sync integrity 

    SuperSaaS also has a changes endpoint: 

    https://www.supersaas.com/api/changes/{schedule_id}.json?from={last_retrieval}&api_key=your_api_key

     

    This returns recently changed appointments since a given timestamp, which can be useful as a safety net to catch anything that falls out of sync between the two systems, on top of your Make-triggered real-time flow. 

     

    The core takeaway: don't search for the slot to update — store the appointment_id the moment the booking is created, and always update using that direct reference.

We've built a really cool Salesforce-native payment processing solution called 

ChargeOn, and I'd love to get feedback from this community.

One thing we've consistently seen while working with nonprofits is that donations and payments often end up spread across multiple systems, making reconciliation and reporting more time-consuming than they need to be.

ChargeOn is designed to keep the entire payment experience within Salesforce, supporting capabilities like:

  • One-time and recurring donations
  • Payment links
  • Multiple payment gateways
  • Automated payment tracking and reconciliation
  • Invoice Generation and Reminders

I'm curious—how are you currently managing online donations and payment collection in Salesforce? Are you using a native solution, custom-built integrations, or an external platform?

Would love to hear what's working well and where the biggest challenges are.

    I am intrigued! The vast majority of our donations are hard checks in the mail. Getting the data from those checks into SF is a huge pain point for us. It looks like your system can handle those ("Faster Payment Processing Across Online & Offline Channels ChargeOn enables fast Salesforce payments via cards, ACH, eChecks, payment links, cash, checks, & bank wire transfers."). I'd love to know how that works.
