Hi!

I  was wondering if anyone is successfully using Actionable Lists in NPC? I have been playing around with Actionable Segmentation and Lists in our Sandbox and have been only partially successful in setting it up. I have some random questions. If anyone has any insight - I would appreciate it!

  1. We have been told by some consultants and I have read in some formums not to use Interest Tags as they are difficult to report on and have some other limitations. Actionable Lists uses Interest Tags so I guess my question is it worth using them to use Actionable Lists?
  2. Our ultimate goal is to generate these lists and then use them in Marketing Cloud (Engagement, not NEXT) but I am unsure how to do this and can't seem to find much documentation on doing this. Has anyone done this?
  3. When trying to "Add more members" to an Actional List, I selected additional members and click add members and nothing happens. I am assuming this is a bug?
  4. For those that are using Actionable Lists, what other purposes are you using them for?

Thanks in advance for any information, documentation, etc!

Thanks!

    Hi Melissa,

Actionable Lists can be useful in Nonprofit Cloud, but I’d be careful about using them as the primary reporting mechanism if your organization needs detailed reporting on Interest Tags.

    For your questions:

    1. Interest Tags: They can be useful for segmentation and actionable targeting, but they have different reporting considerations than normal fields. I’d test the reporting and filtering requirements you need before making them a core data model.
    2. Marketing Cloud Engagement: If the goal is to use the resulting audience in Marketing Cloud Engagement, check how your current NPC/Marketing Cloud integration is configured and whether the Actionable List data is exposed through the supported sync/data extension mechanism. You may need an intermediate Salesforce report/list or automation rather than a direct Actionable List → Marketing Cloud sync.
    3. Add more members: If clicking Add Members produces no change, I’d check the browser console and Salesforce debug logs first. Also verify that the selected records meet the Actionable List criteria and that you have the required permissions. If there is no error and the action simply does nothing, it could be a product issue.
    4. Other uses: Actionable Lists can be useful for operational follow-up such as donor/member outreach, updating records, assigning tasks, and managing segmented work queues—not just marketing.

If you can share what your Marketing Cloud Engagement integration looks like and what you want the final audience/data extension to contain, the integration approach can be narrowed down.
